I'm rather new on DLP, but I've enjoyed the experience a helluva lot, even if I have mostly been lurking.
How'd I find this place? HP reddit, thats how. Heard DLP had good libraries and story lists, and I was starving for good shit. Found it, too.

 

Actually I ran into it on fanfiction.net in one of those community groups. It was called dark lord potter stories. After Googling that when I couldn't find that group again, I stumbled on this site. I've been on here forever now it seems.

 

My join date might not say much but I've been around lurking DLP when the community was still pretty young. I think that was around 2005 when I consumed godly amounts of Harry Potter fan fiction per week. Then I got sick of reading millions of shitty words per week and somehow found myself into this glorious heaven. It's been more than 10 years now and I still visit when life and schedule permits. Probably gonna be part of me for the rest of my life.

 

Found The Santi's Harry Potter and the Boy Who Lived and he listed that it was also hosted on here. Came because I wanted to see the rest and the name Dark Lord Potter interested me.

 

I was following Inert's fics and he couldn't shut up about it. Decided to try my hand at writing and the rest as they say is history.

 

I found this site after reading Newcomb's profile in fanfiction.net, so I decided why not join and see what happens.

 

Can't, for the life of me, recall. But it did prompt me to look up my old posts, what few there were, to see if I could figure it out. Probably came from TFF.

 

Found the site in late 2005. I honestly have no idea how. Lurked for a pretty long time. Was witness to some pretty epic epeen wars: Vash vs. ip82, Vash vs. Bioplague (I think), Vash vs. Jbern... yea, Vash was a real Win Friends and Influence People kinda guy.

 

Had to contact a bunch of people for a bunch of now irrelevant reasons, and found everyone here. As an unplanned side accident, also got exposed to a lot of good reading material and consequently got inspired to start checking what's going on in the HP fandom after years of absence.

 

I was reading a wonderful piece of Harry Potter fanfiction on ffnet. The author had that fic on both ffnet and dlp and as the one dlp had more chapters, I was thus introduced to dlp

 

Back in the day I stumbled across Nonjon's Dimension Hopping for Beginners on FFnet (still one of my favorite fics to this day). Went into his favorites, and DLP was mentioned several times, piquing my interest. One google search later I found this forum.

I didn't sign up at first, but when it dawned on me just what the WBA is for, I realized I definitely wanted to be a member here.

And thus, a wonderful career in lurking had begun.

 

I had been churning through fanfiction in 2014 and saw it mentioned a few times in author's notes. Been reading storied from the library since, finally decided to make a profile.

 

I found various mentions of DLP challenges in the summaries to fics on ff.net, a quick google search brought me here.

 

I found DLP from reading Harry Potter and the Boy Who Lived on fanfiction.net and saw that it was being updated here. Now I'm trying to be able to read it over here.

 

Pretty sure I stumbled across mentions of it while reading fics on ff.net. Got curious lurked for a few years, eventually made an account... then lurked some more.

 

Funnily enough I don't remember opening an account here. Saw the site during searching for something fan fiction related via google, then noticed I already had an account here.

 

Yeah, I have no idea how I found DLP. I think I might have lurked for a couple of months before joining though. I was like 15 years old, no idea how I survived tbh. But everyone has always been nice to me, so eh.

I was recommended by a friend on mafiascum (to the Little Italy subforum). I had previously only used the DLP C2 to find stories, not knowing there was a website.

 

I have absolutely no idea. It was probably through one of the stories I was reading at the time. Shezza's maybe?
