I think I was reading Jon's Harry Potter: Abjuration and he mentioned DLP.

 

I'm not sure I can remember that far back. I think it was from Nonjon or maybe jbern.

 

Goodness it was so long ago.... Pretty sure it was just some random Indy!Harry fic that brought me here

 

I read some awesome shit from FFN and wondered where it came from. Turns out the author's bio provided the answer. I read The Lie I've Lived.

 

Wanted to read something about Harry being a Dark Lord. Found DLP - at first, I was a little bit disappointed. I am shy amongst strangers, you see. Lurked for 2 years, then created my account and continued to lurk for a long time ^^ Fucking hell. 1/3 of my life spent on DLP and still only ~50 posts. Found DLP from reading Santi's "Harry Potter and the Boy Who Lived". It'll update one day. I believe!

 

Sometime in the end of 2011, one C.J.C (a lurker of DLP, by most definitions) (ah, now he's PomMan ) sent me a message on ff.net suggesting to beta for FFF.

Ah, found it. It's from 2011 October.

After a short exchange, he said this:

If I had known of DLP ages ago, well, perhaps FFF could have tunred out better.

Found out about it when someone compared a quest on another forum to one on this forum, and I decided "Why not add another forum to read to my list?". Ah well, I've made worse decisions.

 

Well, I read Sesc's Unatoned nearly two years ago. Checked his profile and saw a list of "Best stories in genre" stuff. Found OTWTG, Matt's Incorruptible, etc. and was like, this stuff is good (although half the links on there are links to stories that have been removed and/or taken down by the ff.net staff). His profile mentioned DLP, so I went through Google and found DLP. Since it isn't technically a recommendation, and I did find DLP through Google, I voted for that, although if it should be changed... lemme know?

 

It was only on chapter 3 or so then wasn't it? My memory is admittedly somewhat hazy...

I found dlp by lurking since '09 and then made an account to talk about... something? I think it was Naruto related. And then just stuck around and didn't understand how irc worked until 2014, and still havent made the most of it. I've always intended to write on here, but never wrote a story I actually enjoy and am proud of.

 

I found DLP like, yesterday, from a wiki list of fan sites and its one of the only ones that is at all active so....

 

I found dlp partly because of Harry Potter and the Boy who Lived by the Santi... And also because I was browsing through the communities and found the link there...

 

I Found This through a mix of Authors mentioning it on FF.net and the DLP Forum on FF.net communities.

 

Fuck. I THINK it was a mention in the author notes of one of Nonjon's stories, but don't quote me on that (Maybe A Black Comedy?), either that or it was a complaint by someone and I got curious.

I probably found the site in 2007 and lurked around for a few months before making an account. This is the only fandom community I've really spent any serious amounts of time in (been associating with you misanthropes on and off for nearly 8 years now, yeesh), no other forum or board kept my interest for long. Still mostly lurk, though

 

Heard it mentioned in other forums often enough, but I only accessed it after I discovered scryer.

 

I found DLP by chance. I was looking for some good alternate fanfiction sites, aside from FFN that is, and I happened to chance on this awesome site.

 

I have Lemora to blame, though I think The Lie I've Lived also played a part.

 

i found DLP by google searching for, a stroy but also reading Santi's "Harry Potter and the Boy Who Lived.

 

None of the poll options fit completely, I guess.

Voted rcc'ed by author, because a lot of really good/disgustingly bad HP fanfics referenced DLP in their author notes, positively or full of contempt.

I got curious, created an account and started snooping around. Lost interest in ff for a while, but you always eventually get sucked back in, don't you...decided to be more active this time^^
