I came across a reference on ff.net in The Santi's wonderful work Harry Potter and the Boy Who Lived (on DLP, HPBWL is by pureb99).

I discovered the forum on several author's profile, as well as the disclaimer everal history making reference to the challenges launched on the forum.

 

Same way as hp1764 up there, Harry Potter and the Boy Who Lived brought me here.

 

It was on Mrriddler's profile page on an old potter fanfic site. Honestly, I couldn't remember the name if my life depended on it. The reason I found any potter fanfic was because I started searching for leaks of book 7. I've been a quiet, but avid reader since.

 

My story gets a lot of talk about it here, and I was curious

 

I was looking around for some new good fics tired of the typical independent Harry stories and browsing the Harry Potter communities (it was not number one at the time) on fanfiction.net I encountered darklordpotter and instantly fell in love.

 

I believe I saw DLP mentioned on either shezza88 or nonjon's profile. Maybe both? I don't really remember.

After reading Game of Champions by Lamora, I figured if he would post anything that would wet the content drought (which with writing like his makes California's worst look like a warm summer day) it would be here. If the reviews are any grounds for assumption, I am neither the first nor the last to lurk...

 

Got into fanficion in late 2006, early 2007. I remember finding DLP then but don't remember who through. Something about the place turned me off and it took a couple years and realizing that literally all of the authors I had men reading past chapter 3 were from mentioning either AFC or DLP. I checked out the C2 and devoted to give the site a quick look over.

I remember lurking off and on for a couple years with the library and Taure's treaties on magical theory being the primary things that brought me back. The primary things that kept me away were really that everyone seems quite a bit smarter than I am, and that was intimidating years ago. Now it just makes me consider what I have to say before I type.

I'm tremendously glad that I finally pulled trigger. My being a part of this web board has meant I've actually started writing in earnest instead of just thinking about writing.

 

Santi's work got me into dlp

 

I've found it only recently when was reading Santi's Harry Potter and the Boy Who lived! I Loved this fic, though it is really nearly original work, because of Durmstrang and many original characters) And Santi mentioned this forum -so, now I'm here

 

Saw the name alternately praised and cursed often enough that my curiosity got the better of me and I started lurking.

A few months later and whatever madness drives this place infected me enough that I made an account.

 

I believe I was looking for fanfic recommendations on google and somehow ended up here.

 

I got here through another forum. People were saying that the Library on DLP was where they found all of the fics they read.

 

I was looking for quality fics about HR on reddit and there was a link to this forum.

 

It was so long ago, I'm not exactly sure. I'd guess it was through an author's note or review from FFN. Can't rule out trash talking though, that sounds suspiciously familiar.

 

My brother frequented these boards before I knew of them. I browsed to see if I could find quality fan fiction filtered from the crap of ff.net. I joined to read WbA.

 

I found this forum mainly because it kept on getting mentioned on fanfiction, but I was content looking around Spacebattles, Sufficient Velocity, and the like, then I came across a Harry Potter fanfic that mentioned DLP again, and I decided to take a look. What I saw was interesting, so I registered.
