I found it from the HP fanfic subreddit on Reddit.

I found the DLP C2 and vaguely remembered some references to DLP a few years ago. I googled it, discovered people either praising or trash talking DLP, wondered what all the fuss was about, and came to find out. So far I have seen reasons for the praising and the trash talking but that's the case with everything in life except Jell-O.

I found DLP in early 2015 after searching for some decent HP stories. I just now got back on, after one of the authors I follow mentioned the DLP forums.

I first became aware of DLP when the author of this fic I was reading (don't remember which one as it was several years ago) mentioned it. I don't remember exactly what was said about the forum, but I remember it wasn't flattering.

The second time, another author thanked DLP for "whipping their fic into shape" (or something along those lines. I got curious, googled it, etc.

I ran into my friend in the university library and mentioned I'd been reading a ZnT fic I saw recommended on reddit to procrastinate from my work, and being the good friend he is, send me a flurry of messages later that day full of links to various fics, as well as to here, as it supposedly had a good selection of high quality reading.
And I have to say, he wasn't wrong. Now to get my post count up to access the full library!

Saw the C2, and enjoyed what I found there more than most. That made me aware of DLP.

What made me come? Probably the fact that terrible writers and Snarry types seem to think this place is full of snobby pricks worse than Stalin and Hitler combined. I've found that to be a fairly reliable measure of a forum's quality.

I had seen it before on Reddit but never really came here until someone said the last five chapters of a story was here.

I feel like another option should be added to the poll.

    "I want to read HP&BWL"

    Sad times

I wanted to see if the santi had updated his story so I created an account, but found to my horror that I couldn't read it. So here I am posting away.

Managaged to get lost in a Slash fic as the author provided no hints or warnings what so ever in the summary, though the rant in the AN in the secong chapter about the bad bad DLP who were bashing slash writer just because they couldn't understand what love meant DID tip me off...so there I was, horrified at what I had almost read, and exremely amused and curious about who could provide such a rant so I typed in that little adress and been lurking/been a member ever since.

I saw the the acronym DLP mentioned in a few author notes on different fics but I never got around to finding out what it meant. One day while using the search and filter functions on FF.net I got fed up and thought: "There HAS to be something better than this!".
A bit of searching on /r/hpfanfiction led me to a thread that pointed the way here.

I was fine with simply lurking for a time, then I found out that there are more goodies to be had by signing up :)

Read a lot of trash talk, but actually made an account when I wanted to read more stories like "Devil You Know."

    So, yeah.

I found DLP through TVTropes, actually. I think it was the page for Joe's Wastelands of Time.

I don't think that my memory goes back that far... I think it was from one of our older authors fanfiction.net profiles (shezza or nonjon maybe?).

There's a Tropes page for that?

    ...

Oh, snap, that's cool. Ha, some of the reviews are great to describe the story:

'Probably the best lager in the world.'

That may be the best review I've ever gotten.

I came across DLP in the same Reddit thread a few other posts mentioned. Up to this point, I have been using ffnet. However, it is pretty difficult to find the types of stories I like (a smart Harry that is skilled in magic, but no random powers, family magic, mansions, etc.) in the sea of fanfics. I took a look at the library list on DLP, and I like the five star rating system. I look forward to perusing the site.

An author on another website I visit accidently placed it in his threadmarks. I figured I'd stay and have a look around.

The site had been mentioned in some authors notes from a story I follow.
