I've been lurking on DLP since late 2009, but because I'm not usually one to join in on conversation I waited until recently to finally pull the trigger and join. At this point I don't remember how I initially found the site, other than that I was immensely pleased with it and the focus on quality fanfiction, which is my biggest sticking point after having read it for over a decade.

 

Found DLP by googling for Harry Potter fanfics and have browsed here ever since

 

I found a link on reddit after searching for good fanfiction last year. After lurking around for about half a year, I caved and joined the site.

A lot of people were referencing this site so I thought I'd check it out. Looks promising!

 

I started reading on ff.net in 2009, having read over 3000 stories ff.net has started to run dry. Saw dlp mentioned enough by authors to check it out and here I am.

 

I found dark lord potter a long awhile back reading some of nonjon's works and a few other stories that I honestly can't remember. I really like this form because it bases fanfiction stories on fantastic levels of quality rather than view count or oddities. Through browsing the library, while as a lurker, I found many a great fanfiction that I would not of otherwise.

 

I first heard about the forums when an author mentioned it on their blog. A couple years ago, their "magnum opus" got torn apart in reviews, but they did recommend DLP for those who could take harsh critique.

I found out about DLP from a story on fanfiction.com

 

I stumbled upon this place 8 or 9 years ago on Google. I used to read it a lot, but fell out of it for a bit. But, I just could not stay away and finally decided to participate on it. It's still an excellent place to get recommendations.

 

Found the site recommended by someone online, on reddit.

 

It was the first thing I saw when I checked out communities on ff.net

 

LensOfSanity's deviantart account had a picture that they said fit Calypso from Harry Potter and the Boy Who Lived, which I hadn't heard of. My investigation lead me here.

 

Someone linked Taure's Headcanon on Reddit, so i read it and then i decided to look for more.

 

I found it on FFN.net on another authors profile.

 

I suppose it's thanks to my girlfriend being an absolutely awful person and not liking or even having read or seen any of the Harry Potter books or movies that I ended up here. So, of course, to counter her terrible and egregious judgement I went back and read all of the books and watched a few of the movies. Before long I was taking the logical next step and diving into Harry Potter fanfiction. From there my adventure snowballed and I delved much deeper into the rabbit hole than I originally intended or conceived possible. Several of these stories mentioned DLP, but as the muggle I am I had no idea to what they were referring. However after dirtying my puffy, white tail in the muck of the internet, forever altering me from the hopeful and optimistic humanitarian that I was into the cold, jaded, and self-serving misanthrope that I have become, a fortuitous Google search of "Dark Lord Harry Potter" found me here. Shortly after, the knowledge that I needed an account to view most things held within led to my prompt application.

P.S. I do not know why I am still dating my obviously horrible girlfriend, but I must assume love potions, wrackspurts, the imperious curse, time turners, or perhaps even the notorious crumple-horned snorckack is involved in some manner.

I don't really remember which author it was that recommended DLP to me, it might have been Perspicacity. I only just started posting though because I have regained a desire to read some newer Harry Potter fanfiction and this is really the best place for that. Hopefully I will actually post rather than lurk this time.

 

I heard that you can find more chapters of the fanfic "Harry Potter and the Boy who lived" here. The story itself I have found on ff.net several times by going through "sort by follows" or "sort by reviews", but I did not bother to read it at tall. I am not really a fan of a "Dark Harry" and the description lead me to that. Yet some days ago I started with it after I found another recommendation on /r/hpfanfiction which made me more interested. The story itself is pretty okay from what I have read on ff.net and I would like to see how everything else wil develop. I assume there will be a bgger confrontation with Harry and his brother in his fourth year due to the Triwizard Tournament. Besides that I do not know what to expect.

 

People on reddit were talking about DLP. I came to see what's up. I find it hard to navigate though. I have tried to find my way around but I get frustrated every once in a while and just give up.

 

Pretty sure I found it through google. Have been lurking around for a while so may have been directed from somewhere else
