The only reason I joined is because ff.net has gotten boring.

 

Newcombs ffnet profile, though their shitty link policy made it hard.

 

Although you guys are basically mentioned everywhere, the first time I visited this site was for the Harry/Fleur thread.

 

I found The Lie I've Lived on ff.net, and enjoyed that quite a bit. One of the reviews for the story mentioned this site being a good source for quality fics, so I had to check it out.

 

I found DLP by browsing the comments on the sub reddit dedicated to HP fanfiction.

 

I unabashedly found this site when I was scrounging the internet for more chapters of The Santi's Harry Potter and The Boy Who Lived. Since then I've been enjoying the DLP Library.

 

Found it through Shezza and Surrains FFNet bio's.

 

I found out through the comments on a ff.net story

 

Like most, through comments on fanfiction.net. way back in 2007. As you can see, I only now joined.

 

Originally heard of DLP through Mira Mirth's fic On the Way to Greatness (still my favorite Slytherin Harry story), and from there the fanfiction.net DLP Community 5-Starred and Featured Authors, which led me to such gems as Myst Shadow, jbern, nonjon, Swimdraconian, and Voice of the Nephilim.

Edit: I joined this community almost a year ago, but then college returned with the force of a brick wall. Just finished summer school so now I can post on here....for the first time ahhhhh

 

I first heard of DLP when I first started getting into fanfiction and read one of Jbern's works. I didn't remember about the site until I was looking to see if The Santi was still updating his Harry Potter and the BWL story though.

 

I don't remember where I first heard about DLP but it was couple of years ago now. I really got into it recently after I was idly scrolling through reddit and found a lot of them trash talking this site and DLP members replying back.

 

I found this site (recently, if you see my post count) after looking through some old reviews on FF.net, with everyone calling it terrible, and with a hard-to-use UI. I, curiously looked it up, joined, and forgot about it. Only recently did I remember that there was a place where people could discuss fanfiction without the toxicity I have come to expect from FF.net. I look forward to contributing, and want to finally have a discussion without anyone interjecting, asking for muggle vs. wizard fanfiction, or some other inane topic.

 

I came across DLP from reddit.com/r/hpfanfiction

 

It's because they're used to the reddit system, which is an admittedly fairly god format for forum style postings. Still, this isn't exactly a hard to use format in the first place.

 

Can't remember, it was a while ago. I think this was probably a case of "I went to a lot of different Yahoo groups of HP at the time".

 

I've got to say I'm exactly the same. It was a bit of a surprise to find that fic here with an extra five chapters, but still ultimately abandoned.
