I came here because someone mentioned that a quest on another site had some content that couldn't be posted there due to the rules of that site.

 

Well, I saw it mentioned several times on FF.Net so I decided to check it out.

 

I was searching for fanfiction in reddit where i found out that Santi's story "Harry Potter And the Boy Who Lived" has 17 chapters and that they were posted here, hence i came to see what the hype is about.

 

I saw people calling DLP elitist on Reddit and also came here to see the reviews for fics in various fandoms.

I saw It mentioned on reddit as another Harry Potter website and so I decided to check it out.

 

Along with the people who posted above me, I read about this website on the HPFanfiction and HarryPotter Reddit subreddits. I kept seeing this forum mentioned in posts on where to find fanfiction and was impressed with the library list of quality fanfiction. Not everything there is to my liking, but I do enjoy reading the critiques people write on a lot of the better stories.

 

I discovered DLP by reading one of Shezza fanfiction where it was mentionned in a note,.

 

I found it circa 2013 by googling almost the exact name of the site trying to find fanfiction. Stayed a lurker for the longest time before finally joining, for fear of a serious drop in my productivity.

 

I was reading a fanfiction on FF.net and the author mentioned DLP and how much they contributed to the quality of his fanfic. Became curious and here I am.

 

I'm another one who found DLP on the HPfanfiction subreddit. I'm an older reader of HP fan fiction and was intrigued enough by the level of discussion that was referenced that I sought DLP out.

 

Over the years several authors of stories I liked mentioned DLP as a place to discuss their or other (high quality) stories. As you may be aware quality control is desperately needed in fanfiction, so collecting stories with a certain standard appealed to me.

 

I was looking fo good fics, and found the DLP C2. The amount of quality fics was staggering, so I ended up here looking for more.

I joined up when I saw that there was a writing section with tips.

 

I went down the rabbit hole. Read mentiones of this site on reddit, then noticed an author thanking this site for its reviews and how it really helped his/her story take shape

 

I'm pretty sure I originally first heard of it by some authors story on fanfiction.net, but I can't be sure anymore. I've lurked and enjoyed the recommendations and WbA parts (discussions and all) but remained a silent observer. Forgot my account over the years so now I'm here.

 

I was specifically looking for Dark!Harry fanfics and DLP was one of the first results to come up.

 

I remember talking to someone about the fanfic Harry Potter and the Boy Who Lived, and they offhandedly mentioned something about Dark Lord Potter. Of course, me being me, thought it was another fanfic about Harry being a Dark Lord and was interested. Of course, eventually I found out that wasn't the case, but what I found was still satisfying.
