It might have been Tinn's Song of the Trees that brought me over here, but my memory of details from 9-10 years ago is a bit sketchy. Christ, it has been a while, hasn't it?

I finally read the latest of The Denarian Knight series by Shezza, and found an A/N stating that there was more on this forum called DLP.

    Everything is Shezza's fault.

Saw some posters claiming to be 'DLP' regulars being absolute shit heels on another site that i've long forgotten. So I googled the "DLP".

The fanfic authors, Bobmin, who were actually a husband and wife duo? They had a yahoo group or something where they listed recommended HP websites and DLP was one of them.

Since then their story went to shit, DLP trashed their fic, they got upset and I stayed with DLP.

It's been a while, and my memory's not great, so I could be wrong.
If I recall correctly, DLP was recommended by Water Mage, on ffnet. The story was Awaken Sleeper.

Found DLP referenced in Yarrrrgh!'s authors notes and profile around the time he left the site.

Got here after finding A Demon's Desire, the late Naruto equivalent of DLP. I was told to look for fics here as well. Thanks, Spanks.

Holy shit, I completely forget about Mrriddler. He died?

Harry Potter fanfics or something like that. Then I think I googled something about Fleur or Tonks and it led me to DLP. I remember I was quite young and unintelligent about the internet back then, so my original account was quickly banned.

Was kind of hurt since I was like fifteen at the time and really quite shy in general, but I figured lurking would be smarter the second go around until I mustered up the courage to rejoin when I went to boarding school.

DLP's acidic nature kinda helped me grow up in a lot of ways.

I remember a mate excitedly coming up to me in my final year of high school and telling me he found a forum that had more chapters of Shezza's Denarian series. I signed up immediately and read them in class, barely able to keep the big fat grin off my face and got asked by the teacher what I was finding so funny on my laptop.

I never really read author notes, so was pretty surprised to find so many of my other favourite stories having WbA threads. Lurked for 3-4 years, until I realized my mate had pretty much stopped reading fanfics and I had no one to talk to about them anymore. So started posting in 2011.

I actually regret waiting so long to becoming an active member, because that was around the time I also got bored of the HP fandom (after 8 years of almost exclusively reading HP fanfics) and ended up mostly posting in the Other Fandom sections. I think I'd loved to have experienced the peak of the HP fandom posting on here.

Pretty amazing how much has changed in my life in that time - having a career for one - but also how much has stayed the same. Fanfiction being one of those constants.

I'd heard about and checked out DLP a few times in 2005-ish, maybe through nonjon or someone. Didn't stick around until reading TheJackOfDiamonds' "Harry Potter and the Hero's Path" in 2006. He mentioned DLP in his author's info, and that's when I started lurking. I noticed that most of the authors I liked were here, and Christ, it was amusing watching you folks bicker.

Pretty much haven't scanned through FFN looking for stories since then. I have less patience for crap nowadays, and folks I trust to wade through it for me. Thanks, fellas. Wretched hive of scum and villainy, indeed.

I kind of regret not participating much, though I do chime in on IRC on occasion.

Maybe one day I'll actually submit something for review.

EDIT: And on that note, I can finally use thumbs-up. It only took me 10 years.

I was lured here by a link to the C2 on ffn, I think it might have been on enembee's profile. I've been looking for the way out ever since.

A combination of two things. First, a fanfic author named Roarian mentioned it in a discussion on reddit, but I didn't look DLP up until a few days later, when I googled the name of my first fanfic, Alexis, together with the fandom (Worm), to see if it would show up. It did, as did the Almost Recommendable Worm Fanfiction thread, where my story had been recommended. Specifically, this post. I saw a few other people mention it, and registered to reply.

I really don't know. I suspect it was from one of two ways; either HPMOR bitching about you or an author talking about the DLP Fight Club. It's been almost half a decade though, goddamn.

I was back on the original TFF and someone recommended a fic that was only posted here. Google got me the link, because they couldn't be bothered posting it. Didn't join till much later when I had to in order to read/review a story.

The FFN community is where I first saw any mention of DLP. Didn't register until I realized that filtering by reviews/favorites on FFN left a lot to be desired. Only a few days later on DLP and I've seen enough amazing stories to tide me over until the addiction is over.

If I remember correctly, I found it via an author's profile page on FFN.
