Retcon the headcanon, people. Dean Thomas went to law school. And he's doing pretty well, I think.

Of course, the main draw is Viola Davis. She's awesome in this. I love the continuing trend of A-list big screen actors getting involved in great tv shows.

9 episodes have aired, I'm in the middle of binge-watching them all. I've seen 5 so far and I'm hooked. And can I just say what an awesome title that is for this kind of show?

Right now, it serves to stave off my The Good Wife addiction. Damn whoever makes decisions to split shows in half mid-season. I would very much like for you to stop doing that.

If you like legal dramas, go watch it. Do it. Do it now.

EDIT: For the record, I don't know if the premise of the show is realistic (accomplished attorney hiring law students, instead of, you know, lawyers), but I suspend disbelief because I'm enjoying it too much.

 

And now I want to read a story where the adult Dean is a badass lawyer in the magical world.

Relevant necro. Season 2 premiered yesterday and boy, it was good. This whole show is awesome. Murder mystery chases murder mystery.

Seriously, don't read the spoilers unless you're caught up on all 16 episodes.

I was kind of disappointed that Rebecca's murderer was revealed in the very next episode, but the setup at the end with Wes and Annalise makes up for it. Bonnie is cold-blooded enough to be worthy of her name. I wonder if the bad things she references in the conversation with Rebecca will be explored. The show's format seems built for future flashbacks.

Give this show a try. It's better than most crime dramas I've ever come across.

This is an utterly delicious show, and the season 2 premiere didn't disappoint.

 

Had a feeling they were setting those two up as lovers.

 

Saw episode 2x02 after a few days' delay. Liked it. Liked the dynamic between characters, liked Annalise in court, liked Annalise vs Bonnie, liked the next bit of the future timeline, liked everything!

 

This latest episode made me think of Dean Thomas having to unite the Order of the Phoenix against Umbridge tbh.

 

I went totally wild for the first season (Viola Davis could monologue her grocery list and I would probably get watery and start a slow clap), so I was of course super anxious about how S2 would follow it up. I'm a little behind, but so far I have not been disappointed!
