This is a quite good rather decent length fic (37 chapters, and updated quite regularly) that I found a while ago on ff.net. The only real problems are that it gets slightly cliched at bits, and its a harry/ginny. I would advise you to look past that however because the plot is good.

 

Posting a H/G story on dlp.net it probably the most insane thing ever done.

Alright folks I hate the pairing as much as anyone, but I can look past it for a well done story. I found it amusing when I posted one and got reamed, but it's rather assine to bitch when you're all saying you haven't read the story.

Knock off the rampant bashing when you haven't even read the story yet, it may be good for all we know. Considering after HBP you'll be drowning in H/G fics, I think we all need to get over this aversion to the ship in general, and classify it as it should be: Horribly done H/G that we hate, and not just the lil whore in general.

Any pairing is utter shit when done poorly, and while most (90%+) of H/G does indeed suck, you'll never know until you at least glance over it to know if it's in the upper 10% or not.

I've glanced, and it's a medium quality story, rife with cliches, and probably does fit into the 90% crap classification, but making a judgment like that w/o the facts is stupid.

We'd have a good bit more links in the various categories that are at least acceptable to read, if we all would read the fics posted before ripping them apart. I'm guilty of doing it a few times, but I can honestly say, other then S&P links, I've read every story linked here.

I hate Harry/Cho, as most fics of them are whine fests, or whore-ville, but I don't flame Sera or others when they links it. I'm beggining to loathe Harry/Bella, since so few do it worth looking at, and don't even start me on Harry/Tonks, it's so overdone now, that I'm struggling to figure out a way to save a dozen chapters of material if I remove her.

Short summary, read the damned fic before you bitch. This site is about to get a major shot when Patronuscharm is released, and having authors who post to Patronus come here and see a userbase that flames any story with a funny name is not the image I think we want to project.

All joking aside, just because a story is H/G, doesn't neccesarily make it bad (example: This Means War! by Jeconais). My whole dislike for this pairing comes from it being vastly overused in a lot of crapy stories, but hell, so are some other pairings these days (H/Hr, H/Tonks).

 

I read pretty much everything that cmes... even if i loathe the pairing... this i merely didnt like...its cliched and nothing ground breakingly good about it but i suppose its just barely shy of decent or as close to it can get... and in my own defense i was only givin the new guy a hard time.. ya know.. makin em feel like one of the gang...

but yeah... about 85-90% of ALL hp fics suck now because fo crap authors who write tripe like IM fics... even as a pairing whore i find it hard to enjoy the pairings I like sometimes.... the number of utter and complete shite H/Tonks and Hellatrixs ive read is astounding really...

Aside from the vile dialogue, and the circle jerking tendencies of the characters it is an EXCELLANT fic...

Unfortunately that part of the fic is exactly 100 words long.

 

Yeah well I feel a little bit guilty now, but I cant help it, I think I won´t read a H/G in this lifetime anymore if it havn't got a OOC Ginny. Her natural behaviour is just so god damn nerve breaking that alone reading it gives me a headache.

Though I will be a good boy and won't flame anymore (at least not too much :twisted: )

My problem is that my aversion IS to Ginny as a character and thus the entire pairing my extension. I DO hate the lil whore in general and have ever since her very introduction into canon when she stuck her elbow into the damned butter dish like some redheaded retard. That opinion has never once wavered and likely never will. It has nothing to do with my own preferred pairing, as I couldn't stand Ginny a book before Cho Chang even existed as a character. I couldn't give a flying fuck either way about the stories themselves really. Like I've said before, I will abandon the fandom wholesale before lowering myself to stomaching Harry/Ginny stories. I'm not THAT desperate to read fanfics.

And by the way, I don't think I've ever linked to a Harry/Cho fic that wasn't my own writing.

 

meh. its good writing but its getting hard to find a truly origional HP story. All the stories of this genre are beginning to blend into the same mass of trunks, griphooks, second wands, dark arts books, and the like. i did, however, like the authors style. dakaath, lust, and traitors were a few bursts of fresh air, but im gonna have to go with serapheth on this one. i may have to branch out beyond just HP fandom. on that note, anyone have any suggestions for such a fandom.
