Title: Harry Potter and the Turmoil Within
    Author: itmonster
    Rating: T
    Genre: Drama/Romance
    DLP Category: General
    Pairing: H/Hr
    Status: seemingly abandoned

Summary: Its 5th year, some things have changed for people such as their feelings for another but the Past now haunts the present and threatens the future. As rumors grow of You-Know-Who's return, an old enemy of the Magic world returns with challenges for Harry.

I haven't read this in a while but I remember it being pretty good. Some people might find the writing style a little overdramatic but I think it fits with the atmosphere of the fic. Pairing is H/Hr but it's gradual and they still aren't together by the end of chapter 29.

Magic concepts may be a little cliche now (mysteriouspower!Harry, etc), but this was written in 2002. Plot wise there seem to be a lot of things going on under the surface, i.e. interesting subplots, and another villain besides Voldemort. Tone is more mystery/drama, and the romance is sweet/fluffy but also dark. Writing is nothing special, but should be an interesting read. It's abandoned but over 200k words

I'm struggling with posting this or not.... if I post, it kind of validates your douchebaggery in putting up an abandoned, old, cliched story... if I don't, well, you're still a douchebag so.... it's a struggle for me.

Sorry, I'm not quite familiar with DLP yet.
Do people not post abandoned fics? Sure I can understand "why post a fic thats never going to get updated again?" but what about just for pure enjoyment?

In terms of completion and length, it's 200k+ words long... longer than a good deal of complete fics online. Its my opinion that a good story doesn't necessarily have to be "complete story."

While it's fine to post an abandoned fic that you feel is deserving of a place in the library (whether due to amazing writing, an entirely unique concept or just has awesome smut), posting something that was abandoned 3 years ago and is, by your own admission, "slightly" clichéd seems... silly. >_>

I just read the first chapter. For that much, 2/5. Poor writing, stale characterisation and jarringly bad dialogue. Definitely a fic I won't be reading.

Lightwater, please stop recommending shit fanfiction. In fact, just stop recommending fanfiction altogether.

I think it's quite pathetic that the author actually abandoned the fic before the so-called romance even started. Slow build-up to a romance and all is good, but this is stupid. 200k words in 29 chapters, and Harry and Hermione don't even seem to be hooking up anytime soon. And from what I skimmed through, the author still hasn't seemed to have a clear plot in mind after so many chapters. No wonder he/she got bored and abandoned the fic. Reading just one random chapter nearly put me to sleep.

Then you have stuff like Elementals, and Hermione being able to absorb the contents of books without having to read them, in addition to being able to sense emotions of creatures and other shit, and I couldn't stomach it any longer.
