Exactly and Lily and her friends always see peter as a weirdo and never like him. If that was the case, why would lily trust him enough to be secret keeper and also, above all her friends that werent marauders. She must have had close friendships like James + Peter did.

Another thing that i hate that gets brought into many Fics is the american transfer student... Like that would ever happen

With the Lily/James hatred stuff that is unexplained, its because no one decides to go too far away from canon sometimes. I think. I really do like it when James and his peeps are actually getting the Slyths back for the pranks on lower years.

Back to Gringotts. anyone get annoyed when they give harry a debit card, or a pouch that refils with galleons when ever he wants?

That is just silly. imagine if he lost that. he would lose everything

Actually I think it makes much more sense than garrying around a huge sack of gold. Though this is very overused it makes clear sense so I don't mind it.

I remeber this one fic where Harry came up with the idea of the credit card, and all of the Goblins went nuts and stuff, saying that it would help the business and all. Good fic, I believe.

Usually the ones I've read involve either

    a) Harry getting a refillable bag that only old familes recieve
    b) Harry getting a debit/credit card that works in both worlds.

Neither bothers me too much, I'd much rather have him actually doing things instead of reading about his 500 trips to and from Gringotts.

The reason Peter is viewed as ugly and an outcast of the group is because of the way he looks as an adult and how he's portrayed as only latching onto them because they were good protection from the Slytherins.

I don't read much James/Lily stuff, mainly because I'd rather have Harry as the main character and read about his exploits than a character that isn't really fleshed out (James). Although for some reason I've read a couple Harry/Lily, Harry/Young Narcissa/Bella time travel fics lately, and enjoyed them immensely. The future remapped is particularly good, though abandoned.

I personally think taht the way he looks as an adult is because of prolonged usage of his Animagus form.

I personally think that he looks like that because Rowling finds it convenient to make the traitor/weak link in the Marauders physically repugnant on the outside to reflect his lack of inner strength/ weakness of character. It's a poor cliche to fall back on, but one she does frequently.

Well, no one is perfect. If someone was, then they wouldn't be human.

Are you serious? I'm straight, but hell, even straight people can point out a particularly ugly guy. Sure, he had the silky voice and shit, but i thought Alan Rickman was not just a little repulsive.

No wonder they write slash and H/G when their view is so damned skewed.

Wow...i still can't believe it. I could understand Tom Felton, i mean the kid looks like he will be a mildly attractive man some day, but Rickman is just...ugh.

(partially in their defense) Alan Rickman didn't look that bad in a couple of roles (about 10-15 years ago), but he just looked ugly playing Snape.

Madam Rosmerta of the Three Broomsticks referred to Peter as "that fat little boy who who was always tagging after them at Hogwarts."

Bellatrix...well I'm sure with the right makeup/hair she'll be fine:

She already has the evil look down. I think we've all ready too many Harry/Bella fics and expect too much of her.

    And Rickman, well...

In dogma, Alan Rickman fit the part perfectly. Anyways, I think that the bella just needs a bit of makeup and an insane look on her face and shes perfect.

Guys you are drifting off topic. Stick to the cliches.

    Another one:
Harry siliencing Ms.Black portret or destroying it.
Common if the best people in the Order couldn't even silience her what could Harry do? Just the fact that he inherit some Black's money doesn't mean that the portrat gonna respect and obey him.

I see it used more often to demonstrate how Wizards typically don't approach problems with a multi-step solution. Still, it is used in just about every post-Ootp fic that involves Grimmuald Place in some way or another, usually not done realistically either... I have to admit, this cliche has never really bothered me, though. *shrugs*

It just bothers me that they don't get rid of the permant sticking charm on her. Its magic and can be undone.
