His appearance was becoming steadily more inhuman over time. In the HBP memories, the narrative always highlighted how each time he made a horcrux his appearance changed - at first, the horcruxes made him more handsome, but by the time he interviews with Dumbledore, his skin looks like wax. I believe he still had his hair and nose, however. He loses two more bits of soul after that interview (Harry and Nagini), so it's possible those two put him further down the same path to the appearance we saw in GoF, or it might have indeed been the resurrection process.

By the time Voldemort asked for the DADA position the second time, his face was significantly distorted.

Edit: "Ninja-ed." I probably should refresh the page first before posting anything. Now I look even more idiotic :p

To add to that, he looked like a Halloween disguise when he attacked the Potters (even got complimented by a child IIRC). So yeah, he was probably losing his human appearance even before getting a new body.

Are you sure you aren't getting this from fanfiction?

Fudge and the Aurors recognized him as Voldemort at the end of OotP, implying he must have looked the same or similarly pre-1981 for some time.

    Also, re: Halloween,

From what I personally imagine his appearance was quite disformed and inhuman but far from the Voldemort we see rising out of the cauldron.

Voldemort had already started losing his looks when he arrived at Hogwarts to request the DADA position. His eyes also flashed red a couple of times in that meeting. I think we can safely assume that he lost more of his features as he created more horcruxes.

Is Alexandra Quick from fanfiction by the same name involved in any romantic relationships? If so, is the romance bearable? By bearable, I mean background thing with almost no focus on it.

Addendum: simple yes or no to both questions will suffice.

Yes and yes. There is some token romance in book 4, but it never goes anywhere and is soon forgotten.

Is there any information in the canon about how powerful/influential Voldemort was internationally?

The best I can give you is that Harry was famous in Argentina (enough to draw crowds), according to Rita Skeeter's article on the 2014 World Cup, and since Harry's fame is based upon Voldemort's, it's fair to say that Voldemort was at least known enough internationally that his defeater would be considered someone to gawk at.

Is there any canon basis to "Life Debts" being magically binding, or is the wiki just screwing me over again?

I don't know if I'd go so far as to say that Harry's fame is based solely upon Voldemort's fame. Being the only person to ever survive a successfully cast killing curse, regardless of who cast it, would probably make Harry famous in his own right. On a long enough time scale it's entirely possible that Voldemort could be a footnote to Harry's survival. Regardless I'm not certain that mere knowledge of an individual translates into influence or power.

As for other evidence of Voldemort's international influence, we know that he and his Death Eaters courted the giant clans from near or at least as far east as Minsk (OOTP, CH. 20). Although we don't have concrete evidence of Karkaroff's early years I think it's a reasonable supposition that Karkaroff was a student at Durmstrang, suggesting that Voldemort was influential enough to recruit on the continent.

JK Rowling has strongly implied in this interview: http://www.the-leaky-cauldron.org/2...neville-marries-hannah-abbott-and-scores-more : that life debts are NOT magically bonding, but rather that it is human nature to be impulsively merciful to those merciful to you. She mentions that Dumbledore talking about the life debt was because he understood how Pettigrew would react to being spared. She seems to imply Pettigrews "impulsive mercy" was not do to a magical bond, but do to psychology.
When talking about Draco's lack of a life debt, she says Draco doesn't owe Harry a debt, and justifies it by explaining that Draco won't acknowledge or repay the debt do to embarrassment. This also implies that a life debt merely refers to the gratefulness felt to someone saving/sparing your life, and not any sort of magical bond.
Granted, she only implies it and does not outright state it, but I think her intent was that life debts are not magical in nature.

I think I'm going to pretend I didn't hear that and use my own head canon to define life debts.

Can a metamorphmagus heal themselves? i find it somewhat plausible considering a knowledge of transfiguration is required to become a magical healer.

Something tells me she has a very similar thought process with regard to the Dark Arts.

What would happen if someone other than Voldemort killed Harry in DH? Harry would still get to live, right? Would the horcrux be destroyed in that case?

Also, if Harry was no longer a horcrux, would he still survive if somebody killed him and Voldemort was still alive?

I thought part of the point was that Voldemort had to be the one that killed him?

I'm fairly sure the only reason for that is so that Harry's friends could have his blood protection from Voldemort.

It seems to imply that Harry would live as long as Voldemort's new body exists. Not entirely sure what would happen to the horcrux, but I think it will be destroyed too. Nothing as far as I know suggests otherwise. In the worst case scenario, Dumbledore could have just asked Snape to kill Harry.

Still, much of this speculation and there is a lot of confusion regarding the subject.
