Man, that reminds me, what was that dystopian DLP fic where magic was running out and Romilda was Harry's stalker/partner in crime? For the life of me, I can't remember what it was called or who wrote it.

 

Most of the minor characters barely have any fleshed out characterisation, so you can pretty much write them how you want. Realistically there's little to no difference between Harry/Tracey and Harry/Daphne, other than the name of the character because there's little to no information given about them in canon. I'd rather just have a well written ship, regardless of who is in it.

 

This is the main argument. Written well, anything is good.

Harry/Romilda has potential for a lot of fucked up undertones.
Harry/Lavender has potential for some light-hearted school focused romance.
Harry/Fleur has international implications.
Harry/Slytherin girl can be literally anything because we know nothing about them.

The key is good writing.

 

It's kind of strange that there aren't more Harry/Gryffindor chasers stories. Any of the three could be developed into interesting characters. Harry/Susan, Harry/Pansy, and Harry/Cho are common in comparison.

 

For me, the best pairing of all is Harry with his alternate-female self or his sister. We should definitely get more of that.

I just happened to scroll past a piece of fanart today that that was Ginny/Luna, and I was like...actually yes. I don't hate that. The whole jock girl/weird girl thing, and the idea that Ginny could be maturing out of her celebrity crush on Harry about the same time she started to see Luna's value as a friend rather than just her eccentricities. Growing up in the household she did I find it plausible that Ginny would have a handle on dealing with a certain amount of weird shit, and it would probably benefit Luna to have an assertive defender who wasn't paternalistic about it around.

Given the size of the fandom, there are probably thousands of these on ao3, but I haven't read any. Maybe I'll check it out.

 

It would be either Haphne or Harry/Tonks (not Honks no), I feel like we already have some HQ Haphne fics though.
The Harry/Tonks ship is highly lacking, I mean she's a cool older girl with interesting family dynamics behind her, she's an auror with Mad Eye Moodie as a mentor. Plus there is the whole age gap angle to work with.
As long as we don't see any "I wanna sEe the real u xoxo" we'll be gucci.

Why make it a redemption arc? Let's just give her every sick fetish under the sun and turn it into the Office 2.0. Or would it be 3.0?
