If the Warcraft movies are successful, we might get the HOMM movies, who knows?

Personally, I loved HOMM3, so here's hoping for the Restoration of Erathia, Armageddon's Blade and Shadow of Death movies :D

How confident are you in the Warcraft movie?

    Not really sure.

It will make money, most likely.

But will it be good? That remains to be seen.

I'm not even sure it will make much money given it's 100 million budget. There seems to be very little hype outside of actual Warcraft fans, the trailers aren't anything to get excited about, and the marketing campaign is almost nonexistent.

I would love to see a Wild West cinematic universe. Take from both fiction and fact (sort of like Black Sails) and you have a lot of fun characters to work with. Zorro, Billy the Kid, Lone Ranger, etc. I'd especially love it to see some of the classic western TV show characters be involved like The Rifleman, Maverick, or even Alias Smith and Jones.

And because these characters are so different from each other you can really mix up the genres a bit. Zorro's basically a revolutionary vigilante. Maverick's a gambler so it's more about card games than throwing down and shooting people. Smith and Jones is basically an undercover cop police procedural. You could have movies centered around train heists, bank robberies, cattle driving, Indian attacks, Chinese trans-continental railroad workers, a whole bunch of settings.

And because you could have just as many movies about bank robbers and cattle rustlers as you do about cowboys and sheriffs, the big culmination tent-pole movie could be about the criminals joining up together to fight the big posse of white hats. And, of course, that'd basically just be the Magnificent Seven...

Playing of the Wild West, a Tall Tales universe could be fun. Paul Bunyan, Pecos Bill, John Henry, Sally Anne Thunder, Davy Crockett, etc.

There is this movie if you didn't see it already. I think this is what your referring to.

    Tall Tail (1995)

I did see that when I was a kid, yes. Loved it despite its awfulness. But that's not really what we're talking about when we say cinematic universe, is it?

    I vaguely remember that movie.

I have no idea if it's even possible to do well, or who would even have the balls to try, but Warhammer 40k could potentially make for a cinematic universe.

I could see it. Start off with Gaunt's Ghosts for that army feel, follow up with some Space Wolves (they'd make for the best on screen chapter, I think) and with all of the build up from that, go into the Horus Heresy. Bonus points if the GG/SW films laid the groundwork for the Horus Heresy series with important plot points being relics from the Dark Age of Technology or revelations about that era of history.

Ciaphas Cain would work as comedic interludes between the Big films. Maybe one before Horus Heresy hits so that people can recover from grimdark overdose.

A Forgotten Realms Cinematic Universe. Mostly based around the works of R. A. Salvatore.

It would be nice to see Drizzt Do'Urden on the big screen.

Why stop there? Do Dragonlance, Greyhawk, Ravenloft, Dark Sun, Eberron movies and bridge them with a bitchin' Spelljammer movie. I mean I'd certainly watch all of that.

I was watching GoldenEye today and it reminded me of the idea to make James Bond cinematic universe.

Why not to introduce few other 00 agents and if they prove themselves to be popular with the audience do spin-offs about them? That way they could have diverse "Bonds" without anyone having a reason to complain about it.

There was a time during the Brosnan years where they considered making either a Wai Lin (Michelle Yeoh) or a Jinx (Halle Berry) spin-off movie(s) but that cratered when Die Another Day came out. I think the big problem is that Bond's actor changes every three to five films which might make continuity (a hallmark of a cinematic universes) an issue.

I would love to see a First Law cinematic universe based on the Joe Abercrombie books. Start adapting the original trilogy and then branch out to things like Red Country, The Heroes, Best Served Cold. Would be absolutely amazing I think!

So I was thinking more about the Cartoon Cinematic Universe and I've come to the conclusion that Red Aviary is right and ALL of them together wouldn't work.

So I've limited the list and arranged it to showcase the choices as equivalents to MCU.

My Life as a Teenage Robot = equivalent to Iron Man. Since its a flying machine defending the Earth.

Dexter's Laboratory = equivalent to the Incredible Hulk, though not an exact one. Dexter is no doubt as smart or even smarter than Dr. Banner and has so many inventions that you can get away with anything.

The Powerpuff Girls = equivalent to Thor. While they aren't alien like him, they are the only 'real' super-powered characters here and their battles are on another whole level.

Totally Spies! = equivalent to Captain America, as well as Black Widow, Hawkeye and SHIELD. Canonically, the Spies have something called the Spy Gene which is a nice equivalent to Captain's super-soldier serum. WOOHP, like SHIELD is a global organization working independently of governments.

Atomic Betty = equivalent to Guardians of the Galaxy. Betty has cool technology and travels around SPACE! to have adventures. No further explanation required.

I have to agree that I would like to see a Warhammer 40k movie universe though I am unsure how big the audience would be (though considering how many things get sequels nowadays I would guess it would be enough for something like this if it doesn't totally flop/the price isn't to high). I would hope that it follows the tone setting of books like Gaunts Ghosts, Ciaphas Cain or the Inquisitor series instead of going totally grim dark(/derp) and I would also focus on 40k.

I also like the idea of some more LotR films (The Children of Hurin being my personal favourite) though I am not sure if I would call it a true Cinematic Universe considering how tenuous the connection between a lot of the stuff would be.

Once it's all set up and done, I'd love to see Brandon Sanderson's Cosmere novels adapted to TV/film. The Mistborn series especially was practically made for the big screen, while the Stormlight Archive looks more like a TV show with associated movies.
