Author Note isn't needed, just Harry eventually wondering why the hell he lived through an Avada Kedavra.

 

Hmm... It was good, but not good enough. Parts of the character interaction felt awkward and stiff as well as a couple of other things didn't strike me just right. Voldemort didn't seem evil, just ineffectual and manipulative Dumbledore was driven into the ground a long time ago. How about a Dumbledore that's actively trying to help Harry, but not getting it quite right? Original ideas are welcome in fanfiction.

Meh, this is one of those fics I'd save for a rainy day. 3/5

The spelling was fine, though his issues with grammar bothered me. It got better, though. It was also sort of a cliche that both Lily and James survived and were stupefied. It would make more sense for one child to get all the attention if Lily had sort of gone batshit from having her husband killed.

“I'm busy, besides I'm no good at flying.” The small ten year old eyed his twin in annoyance. A lock of raven black hair fell in front of his glasses, partially covering a brilliant green eye. - Beware. Emo!Harry will eat your soul.

...It's interesting, but not spectacular. So a 3/5, just because it dodged some of the accompanying cliches such as the brother being an asshole and James beating Harry every night.
