Please don't flame me. I have "searched" for this here and multiple other sites such as Ficwad, FF.net, HPFandom, FanFicWeb, Schnoogle, and Fictionalley, in hopes that the general search criteria that I have may work. Sadly it hasn't turned up what I have been looking for.

    So, I post.

I'm looking for fics that contain Harry going out on his own and traveling much like "Make a wish", "Time to live", "Finding Himself", "A Second Chance to Live", and others that I can't think of right now.

I know of a few on ff.net but they are more of a 'Harry is exiled and has to live on his own with the muggles'.

If you make a list of all the ones you've already read, I'd be happy to point you in the right direction if I know of any others.

And when you mean traveling, does that include to AU's?

I know a good Final Fantasy crossover that has him travelling around alot. Its called Defying Fate: Journey of the Offworlder.
    Link is http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2781387/1/

Its a cool fic even if you know nothing of Final Fantasy as its all explained very well. Plus it has Harry using unforgivables regularly :D Can't disagree with that.

My fic is finally back into that category. "The Next Great Adventure" sees Harry run off and travel through Europe and the Americas a bit. He meets interesting people and learns a few tricks.

    sorry for taking so long

My story is computer/internet/computer problems and I'm sticking to it

    This is the short/medium list:

Make a Wish + sequeals by Rorschach's Blot
A second chance at life + sequeal by Miranda Flairgold
    Time to live by loralee1
    Finding himself by S.S.IDGET
The next great adventure by The-Caitiff
    Identity by highbrass

I think there are 2 or 3 more but I don't know if it's just whishfull thinking or not. So I don't know if there's a long list.

By the way The-Caitiff great story it's already on my alerts.

I don't really want to seem like a self-plugging loser... okay, maybe I am, but anyway... Harry travels in one of my stories, though it doesnt quite focus too much on the training apart from important parts that will play roles later in the story.

If you want it, click here.

Now, for other stories. Have you read Bungle in the Jungle: A Harry Potter Adventure? It has a very strange but original point of view, and is written by a member here at DLP. He hasnt actually been to more than one country so far, and I dont know if he will, but he has left England and gone somewhere else. You might want to check it out.

Have you read Harry Potter and the Marcello school? If your really into this genre then I would suggest reading it but don't expect to be amazed.

Okay, "Time to live" is a bit of an aberration in your list. All the rest of them are using travel as his excuse to run away and "learn what he needs to" in order to defeat Voldie. Or take a vacation.

If you're looking for post-Voldie stuff there are few more out there.
Perspective is a very fluffy (and yes Harry/Ginny) post-Voldie traveling fic. Not DLP approved at all. But a welcome change from most post-Voldie angstfests.
Catch Me If U Can is another light-hearted romp with them all chasing down Harry all across the world and features H/OC a couple of times (it's also one of the fics that inspired my own 'Where in the World' bunny)

Harry Potter and the Marcello School was mentioned if you like the whole different school theme of "A Second Chance at Life"
The only other completed different school fic I know is Deceptions where Sirius and Harry together on the run join a little school of assassins.

There's a few half-started and abandoned fics or ones that probably won't ever be finished (like the 'A Second Chance at Life' series), and a number of crossovers use traveling as an excuse to get Harry to a new setting (like say Sunnydale, California) but the four I linked are at least actually finished.

Thor Nairda's second fic is also interesting. It's got Demon!Harry, with alternate forms of magic, some Hary/Katie, and travelling into a different dimension/world unintentionally.

Its a good fic, its updated VERY SLOWLY though, and its only about 45000 words. I'd still reccommend it.

Edit: Actually, Thor's main fic, Shadow Play, seems to have a good deal of traveling now as well, with Harry and Orion traveling to all sorts of Magical and Muggle places.

Sorry about not replying sooner, I've been all over the place lately and so keep forgetting to check in at ol'favorites such as here. "Catch me if You Can", is alright but no where near the quality of "Where in the World is Harry Potter", and it's sequels, nonjon. Which reminds me, my guilty conscience has finally gotten the better of me...

I've been cheating on the DLP with another forum, There I said it. That still doesn't excuse Nonjon who still hasn't confessed about going to the same forum!

Other than that I look forward to checking out the links provided so thank you to all who have helped me so far.

Which forum? Cause if you're talking about "Potter's Place 3" I'm guilty as well, just under a different alias I know he posts there too. It isn't a crime to visit other fandom forums, even if they are as wretched as SIYE and the triad love site (forgotten the true name of it, but it's a whole forum/archive of fics with the golden trio love triangle).

Then there's other fandoms or groups. The Knights of Jubal (the Order I belong to) once spanned three forums and well over a hundred members. A death high in the command chain had us withering away but I've contacted a few people and am in the process of resurrecting the Order or at least a new splinter cell.

    Sounds like some weird cult...

Anyway, it is indeed not a crime to visit other harry Potter forums. Although I do not post regularly on them, I have forums accounts at CoS forums (Mugglenet's forums), HPANA forums, the Leaky Cauldron forums, fanfictionauthors forums, and probably several others that I can't remember.

Nope, just a group of people who still believe Honor Justice and Compassion have a place in the modern world. We call ourselves Knights (or in my case a Companion, thats the "CI" after my name in the sig), based on the (not historically accurate) stories of the knights of old, but really it's just a campaign for a return to moral values. I've been a member for three years now and I'm one rank below Knight at Companion or "Knight Errant" as it's also known. Am I (or anyone else) getting anything from it? No, just a warm fuzzy feeling and a sense that we're "doing something."

    A really bad joke

It's just a joke, A really bad joke.
    Sorry if I confused anyone.

And Nonjon knows which forum it was, if that is he's figured out who I
    am yet.:)
