It was hell on earth. I checked out fictionalley forums and IMDB to see if there were any intelligent people there. There's not; or if there is, not much.

I thought most of you here were exaggerating about these Ginny fans. Now I know you are right. They love canon Ginny so much they even think Bonnie Wright is sexy  (and that thought makes me shudder). They described her as fiery, intelligent and strong, just like you all said. They also said she is Harry's soulmate, other half, his destiny, and other scary stuff like that. As much as most of us hate Ginny here, they love her. as much as some of you bash Ginny fans, they bash Ginny haters.

So, uh, yeah. sorry for doubting you and all. I just didn't want to believe people were that crazy.

I never really appreciated DLP until now. I don't know if I will ever leave these forums again.

Most forums I've visited have a strong theme of some kind regaring 'ships. Most make me want to puke, especially the ones with Lily and James. I can't bring myself to care about them. Then there are the slash places, usually involving at least one Marauder, or Harry and Draco. One archive is a Snape/Hermione place, and out of all the options on the Internet to read that one is my favourite, but that's not saying much for the romance reading material.

The thing about the Ginny fans is I can almost see where they're coming from. I liked her in the first few books when she was a shy, friendless girl. I could see her having a crush on Harry, and it was cute.

But then she morphed into this whore, and she's gorgeous and powerful and good at everything and popular and all the guys like her...I think JK turned her into a Mary Sue. Unfortunately, that's the Ginny people on the Internet appear to like.

I've been to a few H/Hr forums, and one in particular struck my fancy--though I can't recall where it was or even if it still exists. It was a H/Hr forum, with a low membership count (around 300 or so), and a good majority of the people simply dissaproved of H/G (though not to the semi-fanatical level as it is here).

I started reading fanfiction at a H/Hr archive (portkey, I think)- my friend linked me to a story she wrote, I looked around, and loved it. However, I quickly discovered that I didn't actually like H/Hr, so I left for ff.nazi. From what I remember of that, everyone there were in love with Hermione and her 'warm chestnut hair' and 'chocolaty eyes'. The only time I went back to those forums was after HBP, to laugh at all the people who's ship sank.

There are a few alright forums out there. House-pride was nice and elitist while it lasted. You just have to look very very carefully.

This was the first forum I ever found on the net and I am lucky for it.

Before, I was at ff.nazis reading hg then realising hg sucked moved on to hhr and while I still like a well written hhr fic I find the more exotic ships to be exceedingly palatable.

So, thanks to all those people who have links to dlp in their ff profiles.

I started out on DarkMark.com and browsing harrypotterfanfiction.com so I got all the PG-13 max fics at first. Unlike most I've never really had an interest in HG, though I did have a minor obsession with HHr for a while.

Now though, DLP has jaded my view on life, fanfiction and everything in general, so this is the only forum I browse. There's a higher collective IQ on this one forum than there is in the rest of the HP-fanverse together, I'm sure of it.

I rarely read anything that hasn't been passed through here first, if only for a proof screening and a couple of reviews so I know what the fic's like. No where else that I've found has such a high standard for fanfiction, which is both good and bad cause now I can't read anything that would get less than a 4 star rating... Oh well, for the good of mankind I suppose.

I started out reading H/G and H/Hr on ff.net, but the nazis got annoying when all my favorite stories started to get deleted and I went on to portkey and, to my utmost horror, SIYE. Of course, at the time I was an avid Ginny/Harry fan, but I can't wrap my mind around liking both a good sadistic/dark!Harry story along with a good-goody/Indy!Harry story with his love bonded mate. That's when I read the sixth book...

I was horrified, shutting myself away from all H/G fanfiction and, luckily, finding this site from my twin who probably found it from Nonjon's or Jbern's profile. I signed up at a few other forums like this, but everyone on them are retards and believe random fiction completely opposing the books or JKR's interviews. 'I don't think Sirius actually fell thru the veil, he's in hiding somewhere and they faked his death.' That sort of thing

Oh, I havent ventured out here since I found it. I started at SIYE because I hate to say it, but I was a Harry/Ginny shipper, then I moved to ff.net and I found Dakaath: Prince of Darkness and this site and I haven't turned back, even though I still will read Harry/Ginny every once in awhile, to remember how stupid I was when I started to read fanfiction LOL

I can smuggly say that I never read H/G.

What I won't mention is that I entered the fandom through H/D.

That is the fic that got me into Dark and Indy Harry. Dakaath: Prince of Darkness is still one of my favorite fics and wish it would be updated.*stares at you-know-who*

I'm not sure death, but you might be the only one of us who entered fanfiction in that particular way. Honestly, I'm not sure which is worse, H/D or H/G.

I haven't read H/G...but I do think that HP/SS is worse then either of those.

I never actually went on their IRC so I wouldn't have met you, but I was there for a good 3 months before I gave up on it. After that it was just harrypotterfanfiction.com and ff.net with the random vampire/werewolf!harry searches then on to here. I consider myself quite lucky to have avoided as much slash as I have :D.

I quite agree with you. Snape is a virgin who has never felt the touch of a woman in his life. The nurse who slapped his arse as a baby doesn't count.
