You know who I am talking too. You do realize that it is a crime against Humanity to do this right? You do realize that this is still one of the best dark Harry fics around right?

I started on H/G, H/Hr, and Uber (but no love life) Harry, spent a few years unknowingly killing off braincells until I found Master Eldryn; he changed it all.

Master Eldryan was an awesome writer, from what I remember. I really wish he had stayed with the fandom, I loved all of his stories.

He left so many cliff-hangers behind. I barely remember, but I believe the latest chapter on one of his stories ended with "Harry looked up over her shoulder, wide-eyed." Something like that, and I was so frustrated when he stopped updating.

(And damnit, I wanted to see more Harry/Hedwig)

I actually started reading H/Hr fanfiction. To this day the only H/G I've read completely was Harry Potter and the Battle of Wills by Jocelyn on FF.nazi. Then I went to FA.org, got a headache from the navigation and went to the "Help...I'm Looking For..." forums because I was tired of searching. I got really pissed at a fic I was reading on day so I went to the forum and ranted about all the awful H/G fics and if anyone could help me find some fics without that horrid pairing. Someone recommended this site and I haven't left since.

Started off with an H/Hr fanfic, Harry Potter: How Love Can Grow, and yes I know that is a horribly sappy title, after finishing that I stumbled onto ff.net. Didn't touch H/G at all actually think the first one i tried with it was either a time travel story or Rosswrock's fic, which i disliked. Finally stumbled here after looking at Midknight's author profile. Now I inhabit here and The Fanfiction Forum for its anime related stuff.

Am I the only person in DLP who used to haunt wizardtales.net, checkmated.com, phoenixsong.net, SIYE etc. Well none of the DLP elite will have seen any of them because they will surely commit suicide.

Well guys most of these listed sites are canon-friendly, Ginny fucking, idiot making sites so visit at your own risk (if you have never done before).

Yes, I was once a hardcore H/G shipper and disliked everother ship. Read uncountable sappy, fluffy, romantic fics that I still have nightmares over it. But honestly it was the fault of Melindaleo that I got hooked to H/G. She is such a good writer who tries to be as canon friendly as possible. But she one of H/G fangirls.

After I was stuck dumb by all this shit, I found ff.net and from their DLP through ip82's bio if I remember rightly. Never looked back since..........

I clicked that link and I'm not in the mood to start more off-topic ranting and raving about the actress, but I was disturbed by that page. Not the pictures, or the seriously outdated answers to questions, but by the ads at the bottom.

    The five listed were:
You're going bookend the spam with two different "Who's your soul mate" ads? Someone's got a crush? Only one actual Harry Potter related ad? Sigh. Like that poor girl needs more reasons for millions across the world to hate her.

On a slightly more on topic note, I just started reading hp fanfic. First at harrypotterfanfiction.com which didn't really (allow?) have any slash, but lots of H/G and Harmony. Probably a smoother transition into this sin-filled world than most. Never cared too much about pairings. Then I ventured off towards fanfiction.net, kept reading more, some slash, some not. Eventually I realized the slash aspects of the vast majority of slash fics just ruined the experience and started to avoid those. Then I got saturated on Harry/Ginny and avoided those. Then Harry/Hermione. Never did like Cho (despite liking Draco664's Betrayal fics) but I then sought out "rare" pairings like Harry/Tonks, Harry/fem!Blaise, etc... I'd seen the fanfiction.net user "DarkLordPotter.net" but only found out about this place when my humor fic was nominated and I wanted to check out the boards.

But from the start, I always thought those insistent on their "shipping" were more than a few fries short of a happy meal. Avoided portkey, SIYE, phoenixsong, sugarquill, and even fictionalley for that reason. Well, fictionalley more because the format, stories, and setup sucked. Not so much for elitist shippy reasons as for just being elitist.

I think I pity all of you. I started on FF.Net, and I think my first HP fanfic was a Hp/LL just cause I couldn't see it as possible at the time. (I have since revised my opinion) I've taken at least a cursory glance at most of the forums listed at least one time, But I keep coming back here. More for the variety and witty banter than anything I suppose. Though I do occasionally Mine other sites when I'm in the mood for a certain ship, sadly I rarely find anything. I am ashamed to admit however that I first checked this site out nearly ten months before I joined. I don't recall what it was that made me dismiss you at first, but I more than likely just wandered into the wrong section.

    -Shrug-

And xcel, In case you were too lazy to hit the link button, Eldryn Dropped out of fan fiction altogether because of plagiarizers, Flamers, and other bitchy little shits who wouldn't leave him alone. As the others said it's quite a shame, but he pulled his works, asked to be left alone, and then just disappeared.

I don't think so, Mysteriox. From that letter of his (see the link nonjon posted if you haven't seen it yet) makes it clear that he was utterly turned off not just fanfiction, but writing as a whole. He was obviously deeply hurt by some people and quite frankly I think he stopped even reading fanfiction.

I haven't read any of his stories, but from that letter and summary of his stories Nonjon posted I can see why his stories was so popular. He writes beautifully. Pity its no more.

When I started to read Harry Potter fanfiction I am happy to say that I didn't like Harry/Ginny. For some reason that I can't explain the pairing just didn't rub me the right way, I think that it was the fact that it was being shoved in our faces that I hated it.

I was a firm supporter of Harry/Hermione and still read the occasional fic over at Portkey. Nowadays I like obscure pairings: Honks, Hellatrix, Harry/Narcissa, Harry/Lily(guilty pleasure). I have never really read fics anywhere else other than ff.nazi and portkey. I don't like Fictionalley and am too lazy to search ficwad for any decent fics.
