Most people know not to smoke when filling up their gas tanks, and to turn the engine off. But surprisingly most people don't know that you are not supposed to leave your door open and/or get back in your car while the pump is going...not only is it stupid in case of spills but this happens as well

This was explained on Mythbusters. She got into the car whilst filling up and when she got out she didn't ground herself thus causing a static spark to hit the petrol tank part thingy. Happens because of the material on car seats. Watch the Mythbuster ones of the firemen doing it, it's like a flamethrower when they pull it out straight away.

 

Apparently, women are not only bad drivers. They are bad with cars, period.
