Sure, but if i can mimic EVERY single skilled guitar player, then i would literally be the best one to ever live, since i'm as good as ALL of them together.

You see, i'd be able to play the Blues like SRV, metal like Dimebag, acoustic like Dave Matthews, classical like Alejandro Lerner....it would kick all sorts of ass.

You could also mimic your professor, or whatever...it would be like you ahd his knowledge. WOuldn't that kick ass?

But the others work, since all you are doing is moving things (albeit, really small things that you can't see; you'd have to be really knowledgeable about the molecular make-up of everything if you wanted to be able to shift the atoms to make it).

I don't know about you all... but telekeni is the most powerful thing you could ever think of...

if you go about it scientifically, you can control anything around you (like removing protons and electricty, thus destabilizing atoms and molecules...) think about it...
Imagine if you could change a piece of granite into a diamond by changing the allignment of the protons... or you can control the elements... or you can control raw magic...

 

A "Q" state of being

I would want only one power: to be like "Q" from Star Trek. I wouldn't be some stupid ascended being that's made of energy, I would be a god. Everything would be under my command. I could appear however I want, do whatever I want...you get the idea.

After all, don't scientists always combine time and space into "spacetime"? I could teleport and do whatever I want with time.

If limited by HP magic: Metamorphing, for the reasons others have mentioned. This ability would be a lot of fun in so many different ways.

If not limited by HP magic: Well, omnipotence/omniscience like Q has would be fun for a little while, but I'm pretty sure I'd get bored fairly quickly. I like challenges... if I'm a being similar to Q I simply wouldn't have any. Thus, I'd choose regeneration immortality, maybe similar to what the immortals from Highlander have. Life has so many possibilities that I feel I'll need several lifetimes to accomplish all I wish too.

As this thread is now ressurected I will add to my previous answer of metamorph and go with something like being able to change the basic elements iton other basic elements.

Not just lead to gold or some other cliche crap but literally anything into anything, with practice of course. But, where would the fun be without practice?

Maybe this counts as alchemy?

I would want total control over my own and other's physical state. This gives you the fallowing: healing, immortality, metaphology. You can use it to make a shit load of money, because people would pay you for plastic surgery and healing unhealable illnesses. You can live as long as you want, and you can take other people with you into eternity. You can also control who you, and everyone else looks.

I wouldn't want something more expansive, because to much power would get boring, nor would I want infinate knowledge. I enjoy the discovery of new things to much.

If we're not going with the whole 'rape the time-space continuum" thing I'd go for animagus transformation. Preferably a bird, though as long as it was something neat I'd be cool with it (like dolphin, wolf, big-cat, awesome magical creature, etc...). But I really want to be able to fly. If I was a trillionare I'd finance a lunar colony just so I could build a big dome with low enough gravity that I could strap on a pair of wings and fly under my own power...
