I'm here, even if I'm not happy with some of the things that go down, which is almost never.

For what it's worth, I'd like to see this site survive, even though chances for that are not very good IMO.

For some reason I get the image in my mind of DLP in the near future (say, 4 years from now) as a burned out husk of its former glory. One or two posters coming in daily to survey the charred ruins (bear with the analogy here, I realize DLP has no physical structure) and reminisce about "the good ol' days".

This is a worst case scenario, but I'm sure you all see my point. United we stand.

A Kevin Costner inspired analogy. It will either go the way of Waterworld, or The Postman.

Either, DLP is flooded by fangirls, poor spelling, unintelligent crap or it becomes a barron wasteland with only a few people left that have nothing to argue over but needless things.

A lot of people are saying that DLP will fall in a few years, that it will be a former husk of itself and yada yada yada, because of what's been happening and the changes or whatnot.

Um....frankly, who here thinks that this site will last long after Book 7 comes out? The greatest stories, quanitity and quality, came out before and after OOTP. HBP cleared up a number of plotholes and set the series on a definite path, which limited the amount of options writers could go down. After JK publishes book 7, I think it's very likely that the HP fanfiction world will quickly decline.

And since that DLP is devoted to HP fanfiction, it too will decline. It may not die, but it will become a shadow of what it is today. We should stop the fighting and make use of the time that we have left.

Edit: You know, in retrospect, I've made it out like DLP has cancer or something. Hmm, how do you chemo a website? Radiation + Computers = ????

I can't say that I'm sad to see a lot of the folk who have left, gone. But I still support this site fully, and I hope it continues until book 7 comes out, and even past it.

Actually Maltese Falcon, I think that HP fanfiction will take a sharp upswing after the 7th book comes out. New magic, characters, ideas, plot devices, all could be incorporated into badass 5th and 6th year AU's. Horcruxes were a really good idea, but JKR just fucked it up too much for it to look good.

On another note, I think this site will survive for a quite some time. Once this mess has died down and we get Middy and Vash reinstated or new Admins or w/e, we can keep a close eye on the forum, keeping out the idiots, fangirls, and the idiot fangirls.

We need Admins like Vash and Middy. They helped keep the members in line and kept this place running, as well as contributed with various works of literary genius. If this whole mess makes them leave, it would be a disservice to all of us.

I have NO clue what the fuck has happened in the past 48 hrs, but I DEFINITELY don't want to see DLP disappear. I've been posting here since Spring of 2005. Fuck yes, I support DLP.

Maybe I don't know what what I'm getting into as I've only just got my account here, but I would like it to stand that I Cjon the Bloodletter do so swear to put my support behind this site on my magic and my life except if it becomes a fangirl site.( I'm perfectly aware that I have no actual magic... yet... But I thought I'd swear on it in a Harry Potter fashion, this being a Harry Potter site.)
