While I was surfing the web, I managed to find a gem among the usual dross in ff.net. After checking about every list I could find (including the new one) I couldn't find it here. Anyways, I am not usually a fan of romance, but this fic was pretty good. The only minor critique I have is that the fic could have used a little bit more depth. 4.5/5 Stars.

 

Voldemort having sex is truly disturbing. Otherwise, I would have to say that the story is great. Hermione's descent into the Dark Arts is truly believable.

This one feels almost good to me.

I like the idea of exploring what it would take for Hermione to embrace the Dark Arts. Her seduction into Voldemort's service here, though, happens a little too quickly. I don't think it can be done in 7k words, and it would take a lot more than reading dark books to make her forget her loyalty to Harry.

The writer has the right idea, I think, and a lot of this is psychologically compelling, but it falls short of being disturbing or chilling. This idea needed some more time and length devoted to it.

Well I thought I'd try something new today. I usually stick to Harry centric stories because he's the main character of the books.



Ok, I just finished this fic and I even approached it with an open mind. I have to say a few things annoyed me when I was done reading. First off, Ginny is anything but a traitor to her family. Secondly, I doubt Voldemort would defile himself by touching a mudblood. I suppose that's just my desire to see canon characterizations of everyone besides Harry. Oh, and of course all the purebloods treat Hermione with respect, because she's awesome. I could literally sense the author jumping out of reality and into Hermione.

I decided to give this story a fair chance, and it gets a point for good grammar and that's about it.

There are many ways for Hermione Granger to succumb to the Dark Arts but giving her a couple of dark books and enough time to read them shouldn't be among them. There had to be some intent behind it, like acquiring power to achieve some goal, like immortality, reviving someone and so one. Just the knowing, and more importantly knowing it better, wouldn't turn Hermione loyal to Voldemort.

On the other hand, it is nicely written and I liked this Voldemort, so it would be 3/5 for me.
