Well, despite it all, I can at least say I am glad it ended on what could be called a happy ending. I think I would have reached epic levels of rage if it ended on a "bad end" after all this time. I also have to give it to GB, the man can stick with a story to the end no matter how long it takes. That is a lot more than can be said of most fanfic authors who attempt multi-chapter stories. I just hope he has learned a few things from writing IF, such as limiting the amount of exposition to go into in a story.

 

I would say, just be glad that's it over.

 

A-Rays. I lol'd. I preferred it when he had it as "Eireis" tho. Getting it spoon fed as A-Rays a few paragraphs later makes me think that GB considers his audience to be 'tards.

The most surprising thing to me was that after 10 years and with at least 9 sexual partners Shirou's only had two children. I was sure his partners would have wanted more than that during that time.

 

That just means Emiya Clan bs about dozens of children isn't IF canon. I'm ok with that.

 

Given how bad it towards the end, the epilogue was about what was to be expected. Minaka's video was a cool addition. The epilogue could have been way better if it was Karasuba and not Kusano who was there for the whole chapter.

Given my absolute emotional investment and obsession I had in this fic earlier on, it's really sad that finishing the last chapter had close to zero impact to me. Ah well...

 

It could have been a great story, instead the only great thing about it were the fight scenes, which I will give him credit for. Character interaction and development by the end made me want to hit things.

As an aside: was the Eye of Jupiter-Man something original, or just from something Nasuverse that I haven't read yet?

 

Pretty sure it was type Jupiter from Notes, basicly a short story from Nasu about the last human in a world where everybody else is either an evolved human or some kinda bio robot called an A ray.

 

I could have sworn that Types could only ever exist on planets/moons other than their origin. Something about how the planet is projecting its 'reflection' or something, hence why we will never see a Type-Earth on Earth. Honestly that's kind of what I thought it was--Type-Earth gearing up to attack humanity from afar.

EDIT: I guess you're right. It does in fact seem to be Type Jupiter, forming on Jupiter, hence hinting that the Notes takes place in a few years (or centuries, and Type Jupiter is just forming early like Type Mercury).

 

Which was like the final fuck you to any Saber and Rin fans, as if the whole story didn't do that already. Before any of the types attack though GRAIN pretty much wipes out all humans and those it doesn't kill adapt and evolve from it to be something more than human, if I'm remembering right.

So Rin's probably going to be dieing sometime in the near future.

Also the fact that here the A Rays weren't designed as weapons....
