If there was one fanfiction you would choose to be updated over all others what would it be?

I've noticed that the Overrated Fanfics thread was getting full of these types of posts so I thought I'd make a thread for it.

For me it would probably be Tinn Tams Song of the Trees.

Definitely Fayr Warning's Child of Mercy. She insists it will be updated one day, but I don't have much hope for it. Which is too bad, because the chapters that exist are still the best Harry Potter fanfiction I've ever read.

 

Second vote, and I'd support the same for his other fic 'Room of Requirement', even if just for the smut.

As a stretch, I wouldn't be sad if Lorddwar wrote a sequel to 'HP and the Summer of Change'

 

The Sound of Sorcery, by Somnambulus Deo - I'm fairly sure the author is probably dead, but still. It's Harry/Ginny, pretty much every character is randomly better at magic, and Hermione works out problems that Dumbledore can't - but I love it.

Gabriel, by Shikatanai. This is more "I want to know how it ends!" than anything else. Pleasingly though, this is being worked on.

More Equal Than You Know, by Obsidian Warlock, although again, fairly sure he's probably dead.

Forging the Sword, by Myst Shadow. I shouldn't need to explain this...

By "incomplete" I believe the fics are meant to ones that haven't updated in so long that they might as well be considered abandoned. Fics like "On the Way to Greatness" have slow updating authors (which isn't a problem in this case, since practically every chapter is 4.5 or 5 worthy) and consequently don't count.

Therefore, the only one I really wish to post is "Rustlings in the Dark" by Neisseria. It was nothing overtly spectacular, just a nice, solid, alternate fourth year fic that steadily grew more interesting with every passing chapter. It also felt like a very HP style mystery, which was a nice change of pace to the alternate Tri-Wizard/Universe, and full-on war fics that are more the norm around here.

Hah, I'd forgotten about this one. Definitely wouldn't mind an update. Harry/Chasergirl is too rare.

I'd also love to see faster updates of Forging the Sword and On the Way to Greatness, but as someone said, the quality of each updates makes up for the wait. EDIT : a shout-out to Sixth Year.

I'll second the cry for Only Enemies to be updated. It's one of the few fics I've read in recent memory that kept me enthralled the whole way through. So sad to see that the last update was back in March of '09.

Pretty much any of Ruskbyte's earlier stuff. Unfortunately, even if he did update them, I'm not sure how an update would be received after so long...

 

For me it's the first fanfic I've ever read, namely Arvil Bren's Morrowind Journal by Tim Cummings. If he ever decides to update it, I think I'll get a heart attack.
