    Title: Inevitable
    Author: Shujin1
    Rating: T
    Genre: Supernatural
    Pairing: None planned
    Status: Work in Progress
Summary: This is a crossover fic of HP and XXXHOLiC in which Harry makes a wish that he looses his magic. He doesn't lose it immediately, of course, and has to work it off until his magical ability collapses. It only has two chapters at the moment, but updates are on the way. The plan is, as I understood, for Harry to grant wishes for people like Dumbledore, Lucius, Bellatrix, Fudge, etc in the worst way possible. Which has piqued my interest. Depending on where it goes, it's either trash or library worthy.

    EDIT: My bad.

Lose has four letters in the word. Learn it, love it.

I'll get back to you when I read it.

As soon as I saw the faux-chinese as a chapter header, I scrolled through the whole chapter and hit the red X button, before promptly and most painfully gouging out my eyes with a ruler. I rate this FAIL/5

Indeed, I would write a review for it if I had it in me to finish reading the first chapter, but I don't.

    @Hypothesis
I took a look at your intro after I saw this being placed in the review section, and I couldn't help but notice you said you are "friends" with Shujin....It isn't really a rule of this site or anything, but I, personally, don't find it appropriate to place a story of a "friend" that you apparently know in real life on this site or any site especially if a story is this bad.

EDIT: I was looking over your intro again, and I saw this.
It isn't related to the topic at hand, but I have trouble believing it to be true especially since Harvard is in Cambridge, Mass, and it would be a rather annoying drive.

    EDIT 2:
Now, I wasn't going to throw around accusations during my first post though I was thinking that you were, in fact, the same person, but I thought that I was being paranoid, and that maybe someone other than the author might like this story even though it was unlikely they would both be on DLP.

Shujin, you don't need to create another account just to try and make it so more people read your stories. Unfortunately for you, today is laundry day for me which means I have nothing better to do than stay up on my computer waiting for my clothes to dry. I do believe you just got pwnt by a newb.

Nah, I just have bad taste in fics apparently =/ Rule noted, I'll go back to lurking. Sorry for wasting your time.

And no, I am not Shujin. As unlikely as it is, I also mentioned that I had been pointed here by the member in question. And I doubt a tl;dr post about discrepancies would be appreciated :p

Time to run contrary to the herd!

I like this fic, although it hasn't been updated in nearly half a year. The premise is unique (a Harry that wishes away his magic) and I kind of want to see what's next. I've read so many damn Harry at Hogwarts fics that it's refreshing to read something that circumvents that damn school completely.

    4/5

P.S. Headbanger - that's Japanese, not faux-Chinese. Which makes sense, considering xxxHolic is a manga.

It's interesting to be sure, but I can't really say I like it. It's a decent read and not too painful for me. Nice concept though I dislike the way the author went about executing it. For me this particular crossover doesn't seem to work. 3/5 for being decent. Will revise up or down based on new chapters.

Actually, it doesn't, since there are fucktons of mangas that aren't Japanese. The author just put it there to be a douche and let's leave it at that.

I'll give him that the concept is mostly original. Too bad original ideas do not a good story make.

That doesn't make sense as 'manga' are simply comics made for Japanese people, there can't be any non-Japanese 'manga' because of this.

Anyway, the story is mildly entertaining but to short to honestly give it a proper rating. For now, however, I can saw I will be following it, if only to see if it will continue to hold my interest.

@Headbanger: you type well for one with gauged-out eyes.
Yeah yeah, just like there's no such thing as non-French 'champagne', as only sparkling wine from that particular region of France can be categoriozed as such. And just like I can't call a hot tub a 'Jacuzzi', because it has to be made by the Jacuzzi company, etc etc,und so weiter...

    On topic:

It was at this point I knew the story wouldn't get any better - and it didn't. 1/5

My weeabo senses are tingling. This is not a good sign.

I'll edit when I've finished reading.

Edit: My god, it sucks. Harry speaks Japanese and urgh. Burn it with fire.

I didn't see any examples of Harry speaking Japanese. Japanese characters spoke Japanese at him, but he responded solely in English.

Don't ask why I'm defending this story, but I am. I can see why people don't like it, but at least dislike it for factual reasons.

They spoke Japanese and he understood. That, to me, constitutes speaking the language.

Oh. I suppose Harry was speaking in Japanese, although it was written in English. Which makes sense, since they were in Japan. At least the author didn't dare have Harry speak Jenglish.

Still don't see the big deal. Granted, there are some horrible HP/*anime crossovers where Harry goes to Japan to learn new powers and speaks in a horrible mixture of Japanese and English. Those should burn.

Thankfully so far Harry only speaks in typed English.
