So... I just finished watching Inside Job and just as I expected, I'm pissed off. It was an okay documentary, more of a film though in its style. And it doesn't quite do the same job as BBC's Britains Banks: Too Big To Save? did when explaining derivatives. Matt Damon does well as the narrator though, even if some think they should have gotten an economist who understands the issue better to do it... I think it adds some cred to the movie.

Many of the interviewees get cut off by editing before they attempt making their point about some questions, which will cause opponents of the movie to go "Rabble rabble, biased, rabble rabble" which is a bit sad. However, those kind of people usually have their minds made up before they even watch a movie like this and can somehow still believe that Wall Street and the Goverment weren't at fault for the financial crisis of 2008 and that Regulation still is the devil.

I didn't really learn anything new from this movie except that there are tent towns springing up everywhere now in America for people who've been foreclosed upon and can't afford a home anymore. I know some people go with blaming the people who took the loans and yes, there's some truth in that as well but let's face it, most people will trust their bank if they approve of a loan. How many regular people knew that the banks were trying to sell you the worst kind of loan (Subprime)? Not exactly in the best interest of the customer.

Its a fucking shambles, honestly. How many here believe we'll see a double-dip recession within the next 1-3 years? I'll be very, very surprised if America doesn't have another crash and things get even more fucked.

Could it cause a revolution? Who knows, maybe more of America will be inspired by the middle-east (The irony) and actually rise up against the corporatocracy.

I'll just be sitting here in Sweden, pretending not to have an American Passport.

    :awesome

(And this post should almost go in the Politics section.)
