You know the first horror movie I ever saw was Halloween? I was eight at the time and that movie scared me so bad I had night terrors for the next two years, I ended up sleeping with my mom and having to relearn to sleep in my own room.

Anyway after I got over that I became somewhat obsessed with good horror and getting scared out of my wits, irony is funny like that. Over the years I've never stopped loving Halloween, but the terror I felt when I first watched it never came back, and now I see it more as fond child memory then anything.

Out of all the horror I've come across I've figured what works and what doesn't.

Good horror games, the first Resident Evil games, Silent Hill, Fatal Frame, etc. were the shit. I used to get so scared of playing them I would end up staying up all night.

Horror stories, when written well and put to the right music, can get me into a good creeped out feeling and general paranoia that lasts for a good few hours after after I finish reading.

Movies, however, have been a big disappointment for me, almost since I started looking for anything scary like Halloween. I found the first Freddy Kruger movies bat shit terrifying, but got over them rather fast, and since then I've not found a horror movie I've truly liked since.

I mean, it's like somewhere along the way Hollywood just...forgot how to make a good horror movie. Needless to say it was a big let down for me.

As years past being scared changed to just surprise and excitement, thanks mainly to haunted houses in October. So I'd given up ever seeing a quality horror movie agian.

    Then, tonight, I saw this...

    Insidious Trailer

Lady's, and Gentlemen, for the first time in forever I actually jumped while watching a horror movie. For the first time in FOREVER I could not predict the ending until it was obvious. For the FIRST TIME in FOREVER I enjoyed a horror movie made in Hollywood.

Since this IS a horror movie, and the fun is not knowing what's coming and when, I'll say nothing for now but this...

Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you the movie you SHOULD be watching.

    Enjoy.

That Darth Maul-esque face in the trailer was kinda funny.

Except that, I won't be watching this. I can't stand watching horror movies, especially good ones. I'm a scaredy-cat.
