Someone posted the numbers on the observers Qt but I'd really like to repeat the underlying message emphasis..

This was in no way shape or form Mafia.

Get rid of the flavor, power roles, etc and what should you have left? An informed minority vs the uniformed majority. This was the exact opposite. The only exception to that was the Denarian/Knight subgame and even that was basically impossible to win.

Only 4 scum roles could have any lasting effect on town and they were all severely limited in one way or another. Add to the fact that my abilities can thin the herd..

Tl;dr Game mechanics needed a serious second opinion.

Quoting QT's should not be allowed. But then again I think I can create a pretty believable fake quote so... >_>

Did you read my QT? Every silence target I pulled was a major player. You can't say I wouldn't have done good as Red.

Sorry, finally back. First things first: congrats on Town for winning, you guys basically smashed Scum to bits.

On critiques: Thank you for all of them. If anyone has any other criticisms, please post them. I'm sorry that the game was sloppy, that fault lays in me and only me. However it is my first time, please forgive some of it. I've got a much better idea of what needs to happen and how to do it. Hopefully this game hasn't put you guys off the idea of a DresdeMafia in the future. I have plans for a simpler game of Wizards versus Red Court in the same vein as a Werewolf rather than Mafia. However while I work on that I will be taking any and all Criticisms to help shape the next big Dresden game.

On Lutris's notes of Kai's advice, I didn't think I ignored them, in fact I thought I had taken a good number of them into account.

Thank you everyone for playing; sorry for the mix ups, failures in communications and other general issues. However I hope that through it all there was still some fun to be had.

Finally, sorry for how the way the game ended, I wish I had been able to do all of it myself. Thanks to Evan for picking up the endgame for me. I had hoped to post a flavor text and some awards but I feel this thread has run it's course. Once again, congratulations Town on winning.

Yeah, the game had its issues, but I thought you did okay - I'd probably have done far worse in my first game as mod. Hope your relative is better now.

Thanks for the game. Even with the issues it was enjoyable.

Post the end game flavor if you can - it will be interesting to read.

And to all other players - Thanks for the game.

The game was very fun imo (but that just might be because I got the best role in the game, will elaborate on that later) but it definitely needs work. I think it has a lot of potential to be a very fun multi-faction game if its tweaked.

For one, the scum are way too weak. The result doesn't really reflect that (Town played very good, scum were terrible (apart from Red Court who were good)) but I still think the odds are heavily skewed in the favor of town.

Now, some roles are ridiculously powerful... like my role. If Merlin lives past day 2-3, there is very little that can kill him. Survives a lynch because of Morgan, which is a very low profile role anyway, and even if Morgan dies, if it isn't in day 1-2 Merlin will likely ALWAYS survive to the end, because of being so easily able to true-claim and prove it by saying who they switched. Then you can't be NK'ed, and the only way to die is for Dracula to waste up all his votes, and even then it has to be like Day 9-10-11 for Dracula to have enough votes to pull it off, and even THEN he basically just loses the moment he uses the power to kill Merlin.

I thought town still did a incredibly good job, and was very happy with my personal play (although as i said, it was incredibly easy, because you can see just how confident I am in not ever being killed in my posts. I basically just wrote EVERYTHING that crossed my mind in this thread, because of that.)

It was my first mafia game, I had fun and won. No real complaints here.

Ebenezar was a great role, and even though I risked throwing it away on the first day, I somehow managed to serve town well. I was lucky, got some guesses right and was helped/bailed out when I needed it.

    I consider it a success.

Now I feel like I'm addicted to this stuff... I need another game!

Or Kincaid, for that matter. You missed the Archive "faction", Lungs, although I expect mishie's to be pretty brief.

Alright well time to post my gripe here about the Dracula role, I would have had no problem whatsoever with trying to come up with some story entirely on my own and not used the Auction thing however thanks to Riley doing the flavor text change story I had literally no other option but to use that after I was resurrected. Not only was the flavor text full of stunningly obvious clues but the first time a piece of it was put under serious scrutiny Riley folded nearly instantly and basically sold me out. One of two things need to happen if this game ever runs again with the Dracula role either A. Riley needs to not try and help out with the flavor thing and just let whoever it is come up with something entirely on their own or B. Riley just nod his head at whatever Dracula decides to come up with about the flavor text thing or at bare minimum tell other players who question it he can't confirm or deny anything.
