Hey they should know their place compared to Voldemort i mean he survived a killing curse before and hes more powerful with Lilys protection from harry's blood. i mean they have to think these things through not just charge in and do something like a gryffindor most of these guys are former slytherins they'd rather keep their life as is than pretty much ensure death by attempting to kill their dark lord.

We don't actaully know where Voldemort's (I almost typed Dumbledore here! lol) 'bat cave' is.

I always thought it was the Riddle mansion, but there hasn't been any insight to that side of the problem since fourth year. I can't really picture Voldemort setting up his base in a decaying muggle house. He was probably just desperate before his resurection (not to mention needing to be close to his father's grave) and had little choice otherwise.

 

His bat cave is probably something opulant and gilded, just because he is an idiot like that.

if i was a dark lord i would go into the middle of a forest cast a Fidelius Charm with a 5 mile radis and level the center and use magic to make a huge house and live there....it would make a great get away
