If you include Discord bans, maybe. Just as a lot of discussions have moved over, a lot of morons have as well.

 

While I generally agree with this-- Tonks is only 22 when she meets Harry in OotP, so her brain hasn't finished developing either. Thus, getting involved with a minor could be one of those bad, impetuous, youthful decisions on Tonks' account.

But personally, I don't like the pairing because of the imbalance in the relationship. Not because I particularly care about the age gap, but because I tend to see the same tropes played out all the time-- Tonks is so much smarter, cooler, funnier, wiser, more powerful, more skilled,, more confident, etc. etc. and Harry keeps blushing and stammering all the time while she teases him. That's just not a relationship that I'm interested in reading about.

 

Are there any fanfics out there that focus on the consequences of such a match? Or if not focus on them, have it be, actually, acknowledged? I can see a horny 16 year old and an irresponsible, yet horny 22 year old doing horny fucking things because they're horny and stupid, let's see some consequences. Hopefully beyond like, "lUl the age of consent is actually 16 even if the age of majority is 17," shit

 

I feel like I remember reading one years ago where it was somewhat dealt with. Tonks had an Auror partner she was super close with in that one who died if I remember right. It was really angsty and such, but it felt like it dealt with the imbalances and how this was just a really screwed up relationship.

 

Yes, mine. Because even though I started the fic in my late teens without much overriding thought about the age gap, as I got older while writing it I realized how deeply fucked it was and steadily introduced more elements to the story that highlighted that fact, how it was facilitated, and the vast swathe of frankly absurd trauma that was inflicted across too many characters of that story. Absolutely edgelord shit in the early 2010s, and one of many reasons 'Renegade Cause' has aged pretty rough and the sequel remains unfinished.

You know I have been watching a lot of svu lately. With all serial teenage rapists, killers, psychopaths I have seen I dunno I get the impression 14,15,16 year olds aren't really the same as I guess 10,11 year olds.

 

I remember thinking that Tonks marrying Remus Lupin must also have been an age gap. I don't know exactly how big, though.

 

Tonks is like 24 when she and Lupin start dating, she's a whole ass self sufficient adult with a good job on her own, her marrying a guy in his thirties is way different than her pursing a boy in his mid teens.
