Title: Is that Such a Stretch of the Imagination? series
    Author: aceofdiamonds
    Rating: M
    Genre: Romance
Status: WIP (~11k words total), but hasn't been updated recently
    Library Category: Romance
    Pairings: Harry/Blair
Summary: No author summary, only snippets from the story.
Link: Series, Part 1, Part 2, Part 3

Fairly short, post Voldemort crossover with Gossip Girl that is focused on the listed pairing. Has a few grammar/spelling mistakes and felt a little rushed, but overall decently written and I was entertained. Probably will only appeal to people that have watched or read Gossip Girl.

I had trouble deciding between a 3 or a 4 rating, but decided on a 4 because of pairing appeal and rarity.

    4/5

    Initial thoughts:

-gonna need a spark to ignite
    -there's enough sunshine to share
    -like real people do

Err, yeah. The lack of capitalization is making the warning bells in my head ring. Harry Potter and Gossip Girl Crossover - I am skeptical whether these fandoms could mesh well.

A quick skim through the summaries tells me this will be Romance, likely of the Smut category. Maybe not PWP, per se, but definitely smut category.

Part 1 - Meeting is contrived. Wizard Apparating next to muggle sends does not raise that much suspicion in muggle. Even worse, she asks him out for coffee. Harry then goes on to break the Statue of Secrecy like its nothing.

Their interaction isn't terrible, not great, but not terrible, so I suppose I have to give the author that. Still, it doesn't really feel like Harry Potter. There's also the fact that there are constant references to Gossip Girl characters (or so i presume), who I know nothing about.

First Part Ends, there was no smut involved. I'm both relieved and disappointed. Initial assessment - meh. Not really connecting with the characters on an emotional level.

Part 2 - Time skips. Ugh. If the author's going to write a romance, might as well do it right and not be lazy about it by skipping only to the parts they want to write. We've jumped from them meeting to them dating, with nothing in the middle to bridge it. Great.

More magic, still Ministry giving zero fucks about their world, you know, the one with an international agreement protecting it from Muggles, being revealed to said muggles. Interaction was even more bleh.

Part 3 - Muggle Side Apparates. No. Just no. Interaction is more of the same. I find myself skimming more than reading.

    2/5, at best.

I'm not going to rate this, because I only read the first three drabbles and only vaguely recall the premise of Gossip Girl.

I'll just note that this series is now complete. It consists of 18 little snippets and 52k total words, and seems focused solely on the romance between Harry and Blair. The meet cute at the beginning is all sorts of contrived, as Halt said. What follows, based on the summary of each section at Ao3, is the story of the two of them falling in love and trying to integrate into each other's lives. A British wizard vs. a Manhattan socialite muggle.

I'm not sure how many people here are going to be interested in this. The writing isn't terrible, although it's written in third-person present, which is difficult to do well. Unless you want to see these two characters make kissy-faces, I don't see the appeal.

This is terrible, and goes against the spirit of the library, I feel. Library is for fics that people truly like and come back to, regardless of time and age. There is some kind of substance there that makes people want to read it again.

There is nothing here. Its garbage. 1/5. Rarity and pairing does not a good story make.
