I'm in the midst of a fairly brutal week and haven't had a chance to read up yet. I've only read the first few pages and skimmed a bit around page 50? on Monday in case I got activated that day. I'm a pretty slow reader and have a busy day tomorrow, but my hope is to squeeze in time to read this game tomorrow, but I don't anticipate having any real thoughts until Friday morning. Hopefully tomorrow, but more realistically Friday.

We know that if Vira is mafia, she didn't bid $499 on hitman. There is no clear benefit from falsely claiming to bid $499 on an ability someone else got. Pretty sure it wouldn't even occur to most people.

That's a post that 99% of the time comes from a person who placed the bid and thinks it's funny it went to Koalas.

No. As Vira pointed out, it is odd that mafia didn't bid >$499 on Hitman D1. They had the means, motive and opportunity.

When the price of hitman is concealed, the winner should always be looked at. It doesn't make him mafia, the Vira reasoning somewhat applies to him too, but it makes him suspicious.

Starting to think this game is going to come down to whether I can read HF correctly, because his alignment makes a lot of other stuff obvious.

I'll lay down a legacy on what I think we should do if you do somehow flip town at EOD. I've been mulling that eventuality a bit, although I still find it very unlikely.

 

Mostly caught up but its feels like we're exactly where we were yesterday before the Cobalt detour?
Vira normally sure but with a scum lynch D1 that kind of throws things out of whack. Plus there's the whole do we outbid on the protection counter and maybe guess correctly vs lets just outbid on protection mindset.
Rubicon inconsistent and, potentially, distancing but I think I know where Jan was coming from. In a town you world I'd be vibing v/w on that. In a conftown!miner world w/w. So there's that.

It says nothing. If you are scum then are very likely the one that was going for the cop with 501$.
If you are town you are telling the truth anyway.

You can't lose because in the scum!Rubicon world you are outted anyway, which means that bluff is just good looking fancyplay without substance.

And if you are town you would not lie so it does not matter.

I don't think there is a scum in my top 3 ever.

I am fairly sure about Koalas and Vira as town, but like .. if there are 2 town in my bottom 3 then those is where I would look.

What I do not like here is that his argument is completely onsided. He picks a weak spot in the oppositions argument and ignores everything else.

The information part is not the strongest part of the case, but it is what made the difference for me at the time.

He did not make a strong case why he thinks Rubicon is town, he just says the information of a Rubicon!town flip is minimal, which is true (esp since we now know his case on Cobalt was a miss).
The important part with the flips always was that we get 500% more from Rubicon interactions if Rubicon is scum, and close to nothing from Cobalt, because Cobalts slot was dead for most of the game and refused to play for most of the time he was around.

The way Nacho was concentrating on the town!Rubicon flip when for everyone but me the main reason to vote Rubicon was not because of the information, that was just something that added on to it.
And for me it was only the little bit that tipped the scale in one direction at the time (I was willing to lynch either because I had a storng towncircle and both of them were not part of it).

This is one of the more important posts in that regard :

He reduces both Viras and Typhons case to the more information fact when just saying 4 people and not differentiating between them at all.

That is why I said his words are an "empty nothing", because of the choosen focus of his attack here.

Nachos focus on town!Rubicon read to me a bit like he was having tmi and wanted to look better after a Rubicon town flip.
Made me feel unsure about it, that is why I changed my vote.

You do not 100% know if you got checked.
This play makes you look good if you were not checked and changes nothing if you got checked and are the scum with the 501$ bit. (because in that case you are outted anyway.

Not voting. But I called her out and made a case on her .. was always on the outs with her mechanics ideas. Why do we do that as scumteam?

And yes the easy answer is distancing, but going into the game by having 100% different ideas regarding mechanics which is the one thing we could townread each other for with ease does not make any sense.
