MuggleCast just linked this on twitter. Doesn't sound like something she would say but if it's true it's pretty amazing.

If this proves to be true, than in my opinion, it's on the same level as "Dumbledore is gay" revelation. Completly meaningless, and just a way to keep the buzz on - for whatever crazy reason that could exist.

That's hilarious. I'm still chuckling. Fake or real, it's a great troll.

Well, at least it will generate more Harry/Hermione fics on the ff.net. Maybe one or two, will prove to be readable.

Any kind of enduring relationship in HP is pretty much "wish fulfillment". Realistically, most of the students there would fuck off after learning magic, they'd probably all be sick of each other after being stuck with each other for so long and would be eager to start their "lives" in some advanced profession. Not to say that "high school relationships can't endure", just that it's pretty damned unlikely Hermione was ready for any kind of relationship, nevermind Ron or Harry, who are even less able.

JKR is the best at post-revisionist history - just look at the entirety of Pottermore.

Eh, Hermione never had any chemistry with anyone in the books for me. I don't think this is on the same level as Dumbledore is gay at all, that revelation changed a bit how I saw him, and made me understand and like him more. Also, that doesn't sound at all like something JK would say. I'm very sure it's troll.

I think a lot of people see the chemistry between Emma and Dan in the movies, and mistake it for chemistry in the books. There was far more between them on screen than JKR ever put in the books, so I kinda agree with that, Invictus.

As for the main topic... if she really did say that, that is pretty huge. Too late, but huge. Oh well.

    If it's a troll . . . shrug.

If not, pretty stupid thing to say, IMO. Everyone talks about how much being with Ginny is akin to Oedipus complex, but I'd think that's better than Harry ending up with someone who would rather mother him rather than being a wife to him.

I'm torn here. I'm not going to bother to find out if this is real or not, and just go with it.
On the one hand, Hermione actually ranks amongst my least favorite characters of the main(ish) cast, and I never really felt she had a particularly strong romantic chemistry with Harry, no more than Ron did (meaning, pretty friend-zoned, not slash).
On the other hand, the alternative is Ginny, a character and a pairing so unbelievably lazy not even the movie's extended scenes between the two could make it seem like they worked. Ginny never actually got enough time in the light to BE more than a narrative tool, and she was pretty boring at it. I never did understand why that pairing stuck.
I might get some hate for this, but I actually felt that Luna showed an incredible amount of chemistry with Harry, which went alarmingly ignored by Rowling. It was really confusing.
But between Hermione and Ginny? I really could take or leave either.

Meh. Even if true, I just can't bring myself to care really. It's too late, the story is done, and this knowledge doesn't add anything to my experience of Harry Potter. Everyone already knew that Rowling's romances in HP were all bullshit, and her finally realizing it changes nothing.

I just wish she'd shut up about the damn world already. I swear, every time something gets added to the Potterverse, be it on Pottermore or in an interview, I want to stab something with a knife. Repeatedly.

Let me clarify my post, if she said that, what I doubt, since I read in a interview where she said that Ginny was the perfect girl for Harry and all.

Like Dark Syaoran said, Emma and Dan had a great chemistry, even better than Emma and Rupert, although between the 3, Rupert acting was to me the best. In the books, all romances were asspulls, in some degree or another, but unlike in the others (Harry/Ginny we saw so little in so many years, Lupin/Tonks... Just Lupin/Tonks) we saw a lot of interaction between these characters, and I saw no chemistry between them, and it weren't any years, it was puberty, damn it.

And I agree with Sloth, Harry and Luna chemistry in the books was the best one by far to me, it wasn't a crush or anything, it was the beginning of a mutual atraction, in where both parts were interested in the other for their uniqueness and good heart, with a growing friendship added. I could even say that both saw each other loneliness too, but that would be emo. Because it sounds a very good romance story, I'm sure it was completely unintentional on JK's part.
