JKR is going to do a webcast in 2 hours on the topic of the world of Harry Potter.

Be there or... listen on youtube tomorrow!

Edit: Not so sure about the timing. If you click on the link it says both 2 hours and 4 hours. Weird.

I wonder what exactly will this be about.

    My disappointment sense is tingling.

    I will watch anyway.

    Harrys getting his wand... thrilling

The advertising under it says there are official Hogwarts text books coming out in November.

These questions are so self gratifying. There is no new information, its just saying what we already know about the characters. From what she said about DH, she's not going to talk about advanced plot points.

I don't see why she wouldn't say what her Pottermore name is, since there is no interaction between users at all.

I liked what she had to say about Hufflepuff. Didn't really get much new out of this apart from hearing about Lupins up coming bio.

I'm more interested in the textbooks than anything in the cast, honestly. If they're anything like Fantastic Beasts or Quidditch Through the Ages, they'll be interesting reads.

Raine...you honestly think she's going to sit down and write ~7 textbooks that will only sell as a novelty and won't have any lasting value?

Most folk aren't that interested in the world of HP, certainly not enough to buy textbooks. And more so, not enough to buy textbooks that should be written to explain concepts to 11 year olds. Think how boring they would actually, in probability, be.

Those books would easily bring in million each. Best sellers instantly just by having her name on it. The fact that this site exists and has been thriving for years shows how well books like this would sell.

Maybe not the whole set of 7 books.

But the Standard book of Spells grade 1? New York times best seller.

Pretty much this. Beasts and Through the Ages were little more than glorified pamphlets written for charity, and they sold ridiculously well.

A complete set of all seven books? Probably not. But you can't tell me even one of those books (complete, mind, and not a summary) wouldn't instantly become a best seller. Standard Book of Spells (Grade 1)? The Dark Forces: A Guide to Self-Protection? Magical Theory?

I would by the hell out of those, and I wouldn't be the only one, either. Especially if they were pitched as "used" books like Beasts and Ages, and had random scrawls, notes, and doodles in the margins from various characters.

Bring out a first edition in hardcover, then paper back, then e-book, then deluxe leather bound collectors edition...
