As others have already said, you shouldn't have a problem. I think my entry in May was around 17-18k words and it went right in.

Just be sure to preview your post (I imagine you always do anyway), to see if your formatting made the trip or not.

That wasn't the case with me, though I didn't have a need to make a second post. As soon as I hit "Submit," it flashed a shot of the new thread on my screen, and then I could no longer see it at all. Which was what I expected after badgering Xiph0 for how-to clarification instead of risking an embarrassing fuck-up on my first attempt at an entry.

Yeah, this is how it worked for me at least. If iLost is correct about Lord Anarchy managing to post twice, that's certainly news to me, and one would be ill-advised to count on that happening for one's own submission.

Good luck to everyone planning to submit. I don't think I'm alone in being very happy that this is going on.

I'll volunteer to judge, if it isn't too late. Masses of submissions, only a couple of people wanting to judge though... and there's no way I can get a story done by the deadline. I'm struggling to get whole chapters done of anything at the moment.

I'm up for judging as well. Crossover is definitely a genre I want to check out.

For what it's worth, I just finished the first draft of mine, a 15k word Harry Potter/Highlander (first movie) cross, and I'm letting it sit fallow for a few days before the rewrite.

Judges might consider catching The Highlander on NetFlix if they haven't seen the film (which is, to be generous, campy, schlock, 1980s cinema). Otherwise, the story may not make a whole lot of sense and is likely to be less enjoyable.

I don't mind doing it so much, and if anyone actually needs to do it to make sure all relevant parts are present to make sense, just get me a PM before the deadline. Don't dick around and wait till the last minute, or fuck you.

Edit: Award Rules now an announcement. Lemme know if anything is missing, I botched something, or you are confused about anything.

Props to all those submitting, I'm excited. Good luck to all involved.

I'll throw in my hat to judge as well.

11.3k words in as of right now.

Only another 9k or so to go.

Methinks it's going to be a photo finish. Time shall tell.

Your a machine, Voice of the Nephilim. I could never match that kind of a pace and especially not given your limited schedule, so kudos to you and good luck getting to the finish line in time.

    Mine's submitted (I think).

Best of luck to all the other competitors--and to VotN in finishing (which I'm sure he will). I'm really looking forward to reading the stories this month's contest inspires.

Ha, thanks Pers and Zenzao. I'm starting to think I actually will now. 18k words in, but now it looks like they'll be another 6k before it's over.

On an unrelated note, what do people think of having a guest writer for a single scene? It would only be a small fraction of the overall work, but I can see how it might ruffle a few feathers. Thoughts?

Judges have been notified. Authors: Three days left. Get a move on. Skip the unimportant things like work, food, sleep, bathing, and social lives if you must.

You're in better shape than me. I had something like 7k words written before I realized I hated the direction of the story. I now know how I want to do the story, but I'm essentially starting from scratch. Hopefully, I'll be able to submit a short 4-5k one-shot before the deadline.

6.7K and I'm running a fusion at the moment(if very slight references and one minor conversation with a canon character doesn't count). Procrastination blows, and so does indecisiveness on where to shove the plot toward.

No matter! My other definite crossover is even further behind :D At least one should be moderately fleshed out in time.

edit: Welp, that's that. I've done all my sleep addled mind can come up with on the main focus and its submitted at that word count. Time to try concentrating on the spare crossover and see if I can beef it up in equal measure.

Double-edit: 3.6k spare crossover submitted :D Goodluck to everyone.

Rough draft is finally done. 24k words. Now for some editing.

Maybe. I think I might puke if I have to work on this story any longer.
