So I was just browsing random fanfiction.net communities to find something to pass the times and I stumbled upon a story with this.



I'm actually dead right now. The story is over 250k words so something like this is the smallest of its problems but still hilarious considering the poor quality.

 

What really gets me isn't the shot at DLP, but that DLPers read sixteen chapters of that crap.

 

There's no cure for being a cunt. Raine didn't appreciate that I disagreed with her/him/it about video games.

 

Oh damn, I didn't realize that yall didn't know about this shit. Yeah I know, I skim read some random nonsense when I'm bored and can't find anything better to do. Only saw that line cause the Dark Lord Potter name just stuck out to me cause of familiarity.

Anyways, if y'all mods want to lock this thread go for it. 2014 was like 3 years before I joined, so I obviously haven't read all the threads from that era.

The guy was 17 at the time and didn't understand the concept of plagiarism. If he'd been 12 or something then I could understand (But even that's a stretch) but at 17 there's no excuse. Plus, he demanded respect (Or praise? Can't remember which) for his plagiarism.

According to his profile he's in College now (Or at least was last year). The fact that his stories are undergoing a rewrite is promising that he's learned from his lesson plus while his newer writing still has an undercurrent of immaturity in it (Though I'm not quite sure how much of that is the author and how much is the character's perspective), he seems to have done away with Author's Notes and his last few weren't too childish.

His Jumper series however is the very definition of a self masturbatory fic. It's exactly the kind of story I'd write in my own time if I wanted to fantasize or boost my ego or something but I would never ever let it leave the light of day. You've got to give props to him though for not focusing on the story with the more reviews and favourites (The Harry Potter one) and instead writing what he wants even though it doesn't even have a fraction of the review/favourites.

His favourites aren't all too bad and, at a glance, most of them would be around Guilty Pleasure level. I particularly enjoyed the Naruto story Heliocentrism.
