Well, according to the Lexicon, McGonagall was born circa 1925, which would have made her about 66 years old in Harry's 1st year. She aged well. Also, she was in her third year when Tom Riddle started Hogwarts.

The two do not relate. Harry didn't need any TRAINING; he relied on his author giving him a cheap deus ex machina gimmick to help get him over the finish line.

It's sort of incredible to me to note the extraordinary efforts to which Rowling went to ensure that her Harry was a barely adequate wizard who won through with luck and other people's sacrifices rather than by dint of his own prowess.

In my opinion, they, as 37 years old, should look more mature, not more old with wrinkles and fat. Like someone already said - it looks like wizards live longer, but their look age much more quicker.

That is what they showed James to look like in the mirror of erised... Lily and James both look around 40 in the mirror instead of the 21 years old they were when they died... one of the things that annoys me about that movie.

I think it make sense that what Harry saw in mirror was image of his parents as they'd be if they were alive right now. Seeing his parents as they were in early twenties would be just weird.

As a guy who wasn't interested in HP books till watching 4th movie, I feel very lucky that I didn't see this Narcissa before creating my own imagine of her in my mind. Still can't understand why they didn't choose Naomi Watts for this role. She would be perfect.

And they shouldn't look like that because if wizards age so terribly, why does Lucius look good for his age, why is Narcissa said to be beautiful and why doesn't Remus, who had been through rough times because of his lycanthropy, look as bad as any of them do? The only reason Hermione doesn't look like shit is because she is sorta the poster girl for Harry Potter and making her ugly won't upset her fans.

 

Granted, it's been a while since I've seen the movie, but I distinctly remember that in the mirror scene that it showed James and Lily holding Harry as a baby. I don't remember if the book stated that they were holding a baby version of him, but it just seems half-wrong in the movie with the age/baby thing.
