    KenderCleric's Challenge #18 - 10 Little Wizards (One-Shot)

    Summary:

This challenge is based on the best selling novel And then there were None by Agatha Christie. If you are not familiar with the book take a look here for a great summary.

The War was over. Harry Potter had won and Voldemort would never rise again. However, the Wizarding World had learned nothing from the experience. Their savior had done little more than his job and now they felt that the world could go back to the status-quo.

Several top Death Eaters managed to bribe their way out of prison or execution just as they had the last time. A power-hungry Ministry harshly punished or executed innocent people in the place of the Death Eaters they allowed to go free. Worst of all the magical community in general simply went about their corrupt and selfish little lives as though nothing had changed.

Too bad the world had changed for at least one person.

Harry Potter, savior of the Wizarding World was thought to have died from his wounds at the last battle. He had not; he simply wanted to be able to escape the aftermath he had expected. The deaths of almost everyone in the magical community he cared about had weighed him down and he hadn't fancied the idea of dealing with a "thankful" public after defeating Voldemort. Imagine his surprise to discover that not only was he almost instantly forgotten, but the corruption and darkness he and his deceased friends had fought to stop had returned full force.

Harry Potter was not amused. If the magical community wouldn't punish those who so richly deserved it then he would.

One autumn morning ten very different people received invitations to spend a weekend at a posh new wizarding resort on a small island off the Devon coast. In their arrogance they all accepted and went: none would be heard from alive again.

    The Challenge:

Write a one-shot fic using And Then There Were None as the basic outline. Using the character guide and outline available here incorporate characters from Harry Potter that do or could fit the roles of Agatha Christie's characters.

This is the poem that should be incorporated into the fic:

Ten little Wizards went out to dine; One choked his little self and then there were Nine.

Nine little Wizards sat up very late; One overslept himself and then there were Eight.

Eight little Wizards traveling in Devon; One said he'd stay there and then there were Seven.

Seven little Wizards chopping up sticks; One chopped his own self in halves and then there were Six.

Six little Wizards playing with a hive; A bumblebee stung one and then there were Five.

Five little Wizards always looking for more; One ran into Goblins and then there were Four.

Four little Wizards going out to sea; A red herring swallowed one and then there were Three.

Three little Wizards walking in the Zoo; A big bear hugged one and then there were Two.

Two little Wizards were out in the sun; One got all frizzled up and then there was one.

One little Wizard left to enjoy the fun; He went out and hanged himself and then there were none.

    The Rules:
    • This must be a one-shot, but length is up to the author.
    • The author may decide if the fic ignores any issues from canon, but I would suggest ignoring DH at the least.

This is such a great challenge for a one shot.
As long as Harry doesn't have a terminal disease like the judge, the plot will be perfect.

I would say the characters would be:

Anthony James Marston = Draco Malfoy
Mrs. Ethel Rogers = Mrs. Zabini? Possibly Pansy Malfoy Parkinson
General John Gordon MacArthur = Snape
    Mr. Thomas Rogers = Crabbe
    Emily Caroline Brent = Bellatrix
    Justice Lawrence Wargrave = Crouch
Dr. Edward George Armstrong = Goyle
    William Henry Blore = Karkaroff
    Philip Lombard = Avery Nott
    Vera Elizabeth Claythorne = Umbridge

I like how all of the characters have a parallel in Harry Potter. I look foward to reading your story TBF.

Screw Crabe and Goyle. Too stupid. Snape should be last, unless you have someone better. Although the later you put him off to, the more complex your stuff gets.

Hard part would be to make the injuries Permenant. And to keep them contained.

That would make this hard to be beliveable.

Anti-apparition and anti-portkey wards. Assuming that most wizards have poor to extremely poor physical strength, and they're on an island, instant prison.

Edit: Or, rather, one-way wards. Only incoming allowed.
