They really toned her character down from the comics. I guess Dave getting the girl makes for a better ending than getting his ass beat by some guy.

I was really suprised at how they changed Big Daddy
IIRC, in the comics, he was just some random accountant who kidnapped his daughter. In a way, changing him into a cop affects the entire film. It makes D'Amico a much bigger asshole than in the comics.

I saw the movie today, also read the comic. Both were win in my book. The comic came off as a little more realistic, as far as superhero story's go anyway.

According to Miller Kick Ass will get his identity leaked in the next issue/book, so that will be something to look forward to.

I hop to see more of Hit Girl, Cute murder machine loli for the win.

Awesome movie was awesome. The plot wasn't ground-breaking in its complexity, but it was definitely cohesive and enjoyable. Since they set it up nicely for a sequel, Kick-Ass v3.0 better invest in some pads for his costume. And watch more parkour videos.

And although she came close to affecting a 'Christian Bale-esque' Batman growl at times, Hit-Girl is all kinds of badass.

Watched the film today..it is really great. Not that much plot but the humour and the action is awesome. Loved the little girl. And even the scenes with his girlfriend were nice. Especially the quickie.

    Is the comic worth reading?

    Oh, child...

I fucking loved Cage in this. The way he talked to Hit Girl... was just... I want to talk to my children like that (when they show up, out of incubation in a few years).

Great movie. Comic was decent enough, and they stayed relatively true to it. Not entirely, but for the most part it was dead on.

To paraphrase one of the comic book geeks, "I love Hit Girl. I don't care if she's 12, I'll save myself."

Ok, so I was sooo completely wrong about this movie. I just finally watched it today.

Holy shit, I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard in a movie. The violence was just soo... awesome. There is no way you can take it seriously though, it's got the perfect mix of real and unreal. No sappy shit either, when people were killed, they were all killed. And speaking of Hit Girl...

    This is also so true.

Either way, the acting was pretty top notch across the board, one of the best movies i've seen Nicholas Cage in, he's usually either hit or miss, with his one style of acting. The geek? I admit I skipped a bit of the retarded shit with him at the start, but by half way through, I was thoroughly immersed in the movie.

Characterization of everyone was great, even though I found Kick Ass (the guy) painful at the start, he really did perform his role perfectly, hot girlfriend was hot. Star was of course Hit Girl however, her language, brutality, and the facial expressions made the movie imo.

    Will watch the sequel.

    5/5.

Thought most of the movie sucked, even for what it was. Hitgirl and Big Daddy were the shit. Kickass and that twat Red Mist were painful to watch. Everything Daddy and Hitgirl did was just pure win.

Will watch a sequel, but only for Hitgirl.

Edit: What really jumped the shark was the fucking jetpack.. just too much. A chaingun would of been awesome enough, they went too far with the pack.

Loved the movie, Kick-Ass was a bit annoying at times but overall, I didn't mind him.

Hit-Girl was awesome though, just awesome.

And I kind of liked the Jetpack, it wasn't any harder to swallow than accepting that a little girl was a psycho death machine and it was kind of cool, despite being horridly illogical.

It did gave Kick-Ass the much needed cool moment as a hero since he otherwise spend the movie getting his own ass handed to him by others or being shown up by Hit-Girl.

That's exactly it though. They were supposed to be painful to watch, Red Mist especially. That's why it was funny :p Also, the contract between them and Big Daddy + Hit Girl
