Well, a couple of days ago, I found myself roped into reading a shitty time travel fic on ffn.

Long story short? Voldemort wins in a (non-canon) 'grande finale', and Harry wishes to go back and stop him - a second chance.

Cue being sent back into James Potter's body, after said idiot fell from his broom, during a Quidditch match.

So now he's stuck in the past, essentially becoming his father, all the while helping Dumbledore find and destroy the Horcruxes, and by extension, Voldemort.

Unfortunately though, "James'" change of behavior around Lily Evans (she is his mother) causes her to actually gain an interest in him - James was cocky and arrogant before the accident, trying to date and flirt with her, but after the accident, he's...well, not a twat. Actually a nice bloke. Shy. And seemingly trying everything but physically jumping off of the Astronomy Tower to avoid her.

(On a side note, Wormtail gets redeemed, making an Oath to never betray them, and Andromeda Black flirts with 'James' constantly, trying to shag him).

Now, I can't remember what fic it was, but I'm not actually after finding that one again - what I'm after is any other stories that have this sort of plot-line, where 'James' is running away from a Lily on the Hunt (a reversal of canon in that aspect).

I know it's more likely that there's a better chance of Hitler returning from the dead as a walrus, than there is in finding something this specific, but I've gotta ask and hope, right?

 

It's called Make a wish, Break a heart and I don't think there are any other fics out there like this. AFAIK

Just yesterday I was reading something semi similar - it started with harry back in James body, but sharing it. At first I thought - what a coincidence, but then...
It's both slightly better than average and worse than bad, but after a few chapters it'c very different than the wish.

 

Usually it's the opposite: it's when people post the extremely vague descriptions that no one can find what they're looking for for them.

 

Huh...well, at least my streak of abnormality against the norm continues.

Since this search is an apparent bust, does anyone know of any fics where the tables have turned for Lily and James? Where he starts to avoid her and she chases after him, or where it's her pursuing him, in a reversal of canon (no time-travel involving Harry at all).

One small request? Nothing to do with Snape being a contender, in some way; the thought of Lily and Severus together? Sickening.

And not in the good "I shouldn't have drunk that keg" way.
