    Bah... I dun have the link but i think it was yesterdays paper. Washington DC is trying to design Invisiblity cloaks based of JKR's work. Theyre trying to manufactor fabric that redirects light/electromagnetic crap. Theoretically possible, but not entire likely any time soon with the idiots in charge.

    I think it is quite hilarious actually. Some of the worlds most intelligent are naming an actual species after a fiction book creature.

    A good laugh though.

    I think basilisks are from mythological backgrounds, like the chimera and gryffin/gryphon. Brobably Roman or Greek mythology, like every other thing.
