If you dont like the summons then dont summon but the game is very good. Get the score for the game off whatever site you use to score games. GameSpot gave it an 8.7/10 for Kingdom Hearts II and a 8.2/10 for Kingdom Hearts.

 

You can't really judge the game because of how gay the summons are. The gameplay is very good and exciting so I can overlook some of the more annoying parts.

 

I forgot i could summon in the second one. Just didn't bother.

 

i found the summons useless except stitch and peter pan in the underworld tournaments. one of the main reasons for getting it was 1) to see how the the vivi's name was pronounced and 2) to see what the final fantasy characters from 7-9 would sound like since they had no voice.

 

I just started playing the game now. I LOVE it!!! The summons are still gay but the rest of the game is cool. The only parts I don't like are the voice acting (whoever did the voices of Aerith and Cloud need to be shot) and the whole part in Atlantica with the little mermaid. It's completely pointless! The best level is still Halloweentown though.

 

Kingdom Hearts fits in among my top non-Seiken Densetsu series favorites. The concept, graphics, gameplay, and overall execution were awesome.

Unfortunately, making KH: Chain of Memories a sequel threw a terrible wrench into everything. Card Battle = No. Just no.

KH II is a good game, but continuous cutscenes and emo-bitch Roxas really hurt when I initially started playing. The English theme (Sanctuary) is lacking when compared to the original Japanese version (Passion), but the OST isn't bad. This is essentially what every sequel wants to be: a bit more polish and an expanded story.

KH: 9.5-10/10.
KH:CoM: 6/10, mainly because of the card battle system.
KHII: 8.5/10.

 

You do know that in kh2 you can skip the cut-scenes right?

 

Just press pause scroll down and select skip scene.

 

Didn't want to skip things during my first play through. It's a bit irritating not to know what's going on, even if you have to sit through a shit-load of FMVs to figure it out.
