    Why would you remove the battery?
    Then if you disconnect by accident(say someone trips over the cord...) it shuts off immediately. That's bad for hard drives and takes time to restart.

    I guess it might lighten the laptop and cool it down, but for me the risks>benefits...

    1 - Journaling files systems help cut down the chances of corrupting anything dramatically.
    2 - You shouldn't have the power cord dangling about where someone can trip on it anyway.
    3 - Heat is the main cause of failure for laptop batteries, and gaming on any laptop is going to cause a lot of heat. Keeping the battery unplugged while gaming is going to help extend the battery life as long as possible.

    The benefits are significant, and the risks minimal so long as you're not a retard.

    Ahh. That's probably what happened to me, 'cause my battery is dead and my computer was constantly running hot(just from internet, not games).

    Oz has learned me.
