My laptop's monitor is having a pretty strange problem. Most of the times a yellow vertical line will appear on the right side of the monitor. It disappears after I adjust my laptop screen but it's still very annoying.

It's an Acer laptop slightly more than 1 year old. I read on some forums after searching in Google that it can only be fixed by replacing the screen.

Any information about it would be nice.

 

You mean like this? Then yes, it's most likely the display. You could open it up and look if the cable ist still properly connected and clean of dust. You could also try to connect the laptop to a monitor, so that you can be sure it isn't the graphic card.

Do you still have warranty? If yes, then save your data and send it in. If not, you can exchange the display yourself, or go to your local shop, which could become pretty expensive

 

That's what I feared and I ran out of my warranty like one fucking month ago.

Anyway thanks for the info. Will check if replacing the screen is a viable option.
