I think this is his best work besides Make a Wish. The Make a Wish sequel is somewhat dissapointing as it is going in directions I'd rather it not ... the whole thing with the myth of Mr.Black. I also enjoy his Mr. Black omakes but other than that, this is probably his best.

 

the story is typical for him. It has his unique sense of humour and a good plot.
I wish he had not started writing the MAW sequel but instead focused on this and maybe spent some more time thinking about Old Soldiers, i truly believe that story has some potential as well

 

Definitely. I think that MaW just got kind of old after a while-- I didn't even touch the sequel. This is pretty great though, although it seems a little rushed, and unrefined.

Cleaning out Death Eater Homes, Unique Snape torture and PORN! What else can you ask for?

 

I read this a while back, when it was just Harry the Thief plot bunny. In the meantime, Blot added harems (his latest fascination, it seems), Dark Lord Ron and Snape torture, which was all rather amusing, even if Harry's own plot was put on a backburner. Harry doesn't really have a character here, but then again, you could say he's 'in canon'...

Of course, this story can't even compare with Nonjon's own thief story, but its style is different enough that I'd say it doesn't have to. In fact, this is probably the most satisfying thing Blot has posted since Make a Wish. A relaxingly amusing light read.

 

Although now that he has started posting it in ff.net I'm wondering if we really have to rate this story again when this fic can already be found in the DLP library (by a different title though). I believe Rorschach's Blot decided to make a new name when he posted on ff.net as he is already up in the 50s in the yahoo group (at least in the messages).
Still it has been awhile since the Thief thread was updated and as ip82 said, A LOT of stuff has happened since then. Overall a very enjoyable way to pass the time although I sometimes feel that Luna should get it over with and just take those virgins to task heh.

Haven't re-read this in a while but it's up to about chapter 55 on Ror-blots yahoo group. Very enjoyable fic.

 

You know, I am surprised that I haven't seen or read this fic yet. Truely surprising really. FF.Net shows that this fic has been updated to chapter 75 on the 25th (December 2007)? I'll give a proper review after I have read some of the fic.

Well, to be honest, I had plan to read enough to give it a review before now. Real life got in the way, thus it would seem I had made an ass of myself.

Anyway, I have gotten to chapter 20. Great humor abound so far in this fic. Many great one liners as well; example? The afore mention sig that nonjon wrote about, which happen to be in one of the first couple of chapters. Which one could assume that I had enough time between this post and and reading that line to edit my sig accordingly.

I will give this story a 4.5/5 for the first twenty chapters. Just something seems missing to me to make this story a 5/5. It seems like the main plot is slow to get taken off, maybe with the introduction of Luna the plot will take off...

Seems that my attempts at self deprecating humor failed at a global scale. Also it seems that after looking at the rules of the section, I seem to be in the wrong. I am sorry about that, but as even nonjon said, he was 15 or so chapters behind this fic. Just thought that I would updated for the people that might not have gotten the chance to read the update, or even know about the update.

 

You posted just to tell us you've never read this fic? (And yet your sig is a quote from it...)

On a more topically related note, I'm probably 15 chapters behind on this one now and I think I may be holding off to see if Rorsh is going to end this anytime soon. The idea started hilarious and had tons of great scenes and bits. And there still are plenty of genuine laugh out loud moments. But too many side plots and characters (Ron, Neville, Tentacle Monster, Tonks, Luna, Snape) with only limited relation to Harry and the original thieving plot have added to my waning interest.

But I'm not sure there's enough substance in this 75 chapters and nearly 180,000 words to warrant reading this. It's getting too long. When Rorsh wraps it up, I'll definitely be reading it. But too many competing and only barely related plotlines to interest me in the frequent updates.

As much as it pains me to say it, this is probably getting a lot closer to 3/5 now than 5/5.

 

I tried to read this, since I generally like Rorsh's work. I couldn't really follow the plot line, and that kind of ruined the story for me. Plus so much randomness messed with my head and i just quit after a while.

 

I don't see why this is in the recycle bin it is a very funny comedy

mmmh, well its 76 chapters long (or thereabouts) but honestly, the story would be a LOT better if it was only 40 chapters.
Some stuff is rather funny, but inbetween he spends entire chapters torturing snape, which honestly is getting quite old...

i'd still give it 4 out of 5, but i hope he starts to wrap it up soonish, its already in danger of running away from him

I love the story and the humor is excellent, but (And I think this is the first time I have EVER had this complaint) it is too long. It drags on and on and on throughout the middle part of the story and I think with some heavy editing it would be an all around more enjoyable fic.
I may be bias, though, I really don't like H/Hr, but she was to OOC that it almost didn't count.

I'm calling bullshit - this story isn't a harem, at least not for Harry. The story is fairly strictly Harry/Hermione and Harry/Hermione/Luna.

Tonks is thrown into the relationship as a joke in the very last chapter, and you never see anything come of it. The story ends shortly thereafter without considering any details, or showing Tonks in a romantic situation with any of them.

Ginny you never see in a relationship with any of them, although she makes a comment expressing a desire to be in a relationship with the rest of them in the last chapter. In fact, the only thing Ginny really does in the entire story is pimp Dean off onto old women.

 

Still pretty crappy, though.
