Pineapple scones aren't scary. It's the blueberry ones you need to look out for.

Welcome to the jungle; we've got fun and games.

When you get caught, I hope they throw the book at you.

I facepalmed so hard that I broke my face - which broke my hand. Which broke the sound barrier.

Impossible, it's a nerd-porn book with a hot green alien with three tits as a cover (awesome). No one would dare throw it.

    Booyah!

I guess my problem with "disabled" harry fics where something other than dark magic disables him, is that five minutes in St. Mungos - hell the infirmary at Hogwarts would basically make him not disabled any longer.

That could make an interesting fic when Harry finds out that the cure to his suffering was a literal swish and flick away his whole life but no one ever thought of helping him.

It's not a bad idea for a push into Indy!Harry, but if you're not careful would it quickly turn into the standard Bitter&Betrayed!Harry trope.

    That's rubbish.

Magic can do a lot, but magic can't do everything. For magic to be able to heal an illness, you need someone to invent a way to heal it - be it a potion, a wand movement, an incantation.

I agree 100% with Rin. If it wasn't caused by A dark curse, or a curse with an unknown countercurse, then a normal ailment affecting wizards is complete bullshit.

If there was a potion or spell to fix eye sight, why didn't his father or himself (Harry) get Pomphrey to do it, or St. Mungo's?

Maybe it's just chic to have glasses.

Maybe it has to be done when you're young.

Maybe the effects of old age cannot be reversed.

I would say genetic shit like that couldn't be reversed but Hermione changed her teeth.

    Who knows?

    Also, Arthur and Percy Weasley.

Much ado is given about eyes in the books. While the rest of Mad-Eye Moody's injuries might have been irreparable due to Dark Curses being the cause, I'd say that the eyes are unusually resistant to magical quick fixes. Alternately, there may be too many advantages to having glasses for most with vision problems to bother just fixing the eyes.

EDIT: @ Duderino- that's a lazy answer even when it's true.

@Wizardmon- exactly! Glasses also can protect from toxic sprays and shrapnel- my glasses have saved my eyes from hot oil and two hockey pucks already.

What about enchanted/charmed glasses ? Maybe that is how Dumbledore saw through Invisibility Cloak. Heh, James Potter could have some enchantments from Omnioculars on his glasses etc.

Omnioculars? Fuck that. There are charms that allow you to see through clothes.

James Potter would have been all over that.

"Oh Lily, I've been looking all over for you! Did you know it's impossible to touch your bellybutton with your elbows. Really, try it."

Because he lacks common sense for the most part, plus you might've forgotten how ignorant he was. He never mentioned he wanted it done either.
