In the spirit of the Hermione thread, let’s shit on Ron.

He takes his family for granted

Ron repeatedly complains about his family to an orphan that has never had one. Despite having one of the most loving families in the series, Ron dismisses this love and affection and nearly always focuses on the positives.

There's more than enough media constantly bashing Ron, from the movies to literally hundreds of thousands of fanfics, articles and tropes (Ron the Death Eater), shippers (Harmony) and stans (for Hermione). Even canon does it to an extent. The bloke has been bashed since at least 2000 when the fourth book came out. We've seen over twenty fucking years of it; we don't need to see any more. It's like beating a rotten carcass.

"But Hermione gets bashed too!" Yes, this is true. But most of the top read/reviewed/favourited fics bash Ron in one way or the other, yet Hermione is left alone or promoted to OP status. Few fics can claim to do the same for Ron.

How many fics bash Hermione to the extent of Ron like "HP and the Champion's Champion" that aren't obscure, spelling/grammar-ridden disasters? How many writers bash Hermione and leave Ron alone or make him OP with Harry like Robst does with Harry and Hermione? How many AU fics exist where Harry gets Sorted into another House and he's still friends with Ron but not Princess!Hermione? How many crossovers include Ron and make him the good guy?

Knowing very little about the actual content of Cursed Child other than it's reputation and seeing the occasional JKR tweet/Pottermore fact the last few years, I want to say that's an obvious joke but I hate that I can't.
