Well, this weekend and next week I've got hunting + a federal holiday, so I'd prefer two weeks from today.

 

Update for all books. I tried to keep the individual books for Two Towers and Return of the King separate. Also, weeks start Mondays.

So is the week the day that we start reading and then we discuss as we read/finish? Or are we supposed to have read the chapter by that date so we can discuss?

 

I was thinking, basically the same format as the HP reread. Each week there would be a thread for the chapters in question. And whenever you've finished those chapters, you can head to the thread for the discussion. That way even if you start late, or need to catch up, you can still participate and discuss the events of those chapters.

So, both? You are free to discuss stuff from that Monday onward. But if you want to read during the week, and comment as you go along, or read it all the weekend prior, is up to you. That said, if you haven't read the books before you might want to read all the given chapters before joining in.


If ya'll want I can easily push the start-dates by a week so next week is the first "reading" week and create the thread on the 29th.

 

Eh first week is 7.5k words, I'm fine with us hitting the ground running with this one. Just wanted to make sure we were all on the same page.

 

Can we add a bye week before and after two towers books to allow some catch up for those who have holidays or birthdays or miss their second breakfast?

 

Yeah I don't see why not. We can use those weeks to talk about the books as a whole, too.

I will be reading Two Towers, with a report this Sunday. I hope to hear your opinions then.

 

Oh man totally forgot about this. I have some reading time on my hand due to FTO, I'ma switch tracks and chug through Fellowship and try to catch up to you. Don't really want to not reread that and jump into Two Towers because it's been forever since I read them.
