One of Fox's new shows is gaining a lot of popularity. It's about human lie detectors staring Tim Roth who is a brilliant actor who you probably recognize from Hulk (2009 ). He plays a doctor who spent years researching body and facial expressions and can tell if a person is lying based on that.

The shows got a great concept and some well known casts.
I have been watching the show since it's early web release. So far it's been very interesting. You can catch the show on Hulu.

It's okay show, it is pretty entertaining but it has way too much close-ups on obviously faked facial grimaces (they are really annoying). That, and it just feels like cheap rip-off from The Mentalist.

Everything is a rip-off from something else in a way. I very much like the cast, especially the "radical honesty" bloke. I hope he gets more screen-time!

    It's a stereotypical police/investigative drama with a gimmick. Won't last long.

Omg I hate The Mentalist. I hate the main actor and I hate the way they slow everything down so people see all the exact details. It's fucking annoying >_> the concept is cool but sooo distracting. I'd rather watch Psych any day.

I thought it was alright. Pretty interesting concept, even if they might have a little trouble with coming up with original cases and stuff.

But it certainly beats watching CSI. By far.

Well, I'm pretty surprised there isn't a thread for this show yet. Lie to Me came about in the mid-season break, and is now in its second season.

    (Fangasm: NEW EPISODE TONIGHT)

The Lightman Group (the main focus of the show) deals with deception detection theory. They know when you lie. They know when you masturbate. They know everything. No, you really don't want to gamble with these people.

The main character is Cal Lightman, who you will recognise from Pulp Fiction if you have any kind of memory whatsoever. Lightman, as the name would suggest, created the company after working with DoD, and now contracts with multiple law enforcement agencies - often solving their problems and making them look less capable than small children.

Secondary, is the obligatory psychologist. She's like marmite. Personally, I think she's interesting - even though she's the only one whose name I can't remember. And as it's two a.m, you can watch the show to find out, 'cause I'm far too tired.

Cal and his pet shrink normally end up working together, whilst the other two split off to handle another case.

And just to interest you a little more, there's a line from the latest episode that I sincerely loved.

'It's alright, Luv, if it all goes bad I can always go back to Vegas.'

'Cal - promise me you won't go to Vegas. . . Cal?'

Ninja-edit: Maybe I should actually link to the show's site?

And if you wouldn't want to see a crossover between this and House, you're crazy. Srsly. Illustrated by http://www.fox.com/fod/play.php?sh=lietome&ep=1250722173225

I am pretty sure there was a thread about this, but no matter, I've been watching it since last season. At first I thought it was a bit of pseudo-science circle jerk but the characters have developed nicely and I am enjoying it even more this season.

    There you go.

As for the show, it's... average. Watchable average, but average nonetheless.
